This was the plane that I first learned to fly in! Like, literally, Derrell and Shelley Lipman were my instructors in Civil Air Patrol in high school! This will be my 20th year as an AOPA member. Fingers crossed that the Tiger "stays in the family." ☺️🙏 It's such a beautiful and amazing flying airplane! You all did a phenomenal job!!! 👏😉👍✈️👨‍✈️

You don't need carb heat in a Tiger unless you suspect ice. It's only on the checklist as "as needed"

That carb intake air should be like the cheetahs. Ouside air, not hot air from after going around the hot cylinders. Mods are avail.

Too bad the CFI isn't familiar with the aircraft and is teaching/allowing some bad habits. Carb heat? Not in a Grumman unless there are symptoms of carb icing occurring or visible moisture. Landing was flat, hopefully that will improve. But following the actual checklist for the airplane and not some memorized checklist from a Cessna would be a good start. Also, turn off the boost pump after takeoff...

Yeah would rather not loose my engine on a go around because I decided to use carb heat. Carb heat stays on below 2000 rpm for me

You know what, this whole comment is just wrong. I don't know where you got the idea that that is a flat landing. Hell, you could've at least called him out for landing like 3 feet off centerline, but it sure wasn't flat. and its not your airplane so don't tell him how to use his fuel pump lmao
