There in lies the issue - a lot of people don’t understand what women in general have had to struggle through to be properly recognized in sports of all sorts. Women (as well as guys) are excited to have role models to “obsess” over. The obsession among guys with people like Kilian and Eulid for example is real - but not necessarily a bad thing. 🙂🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Maybe you've never really had to think about it, or experience being the minority? Your comment is not unlike those who deride others for speaking of racism, because they don't understand it because they've never experienced it. It wasn't all that long ago when a woman tried to run the Boston Marathon and was punched, pushed, spit on, kicked, had things thrown at her, simply for doing so... because she was a woman. Because what was between her legs wasn't a penis. You can say they're "obsessed " , but, maybe, they're just looking for a little more fairness on the entry field... and in this event, if it offends you there are 27 women allowed to run it, you may find comfort in knowing there's still more than 120 men running it too.

@@michaeleverest3487 and for the record your assumption "I've never had to experience being a minority" is so strange to say to an account that to you is anonymous on the internet. Not that my demographic makeup should impact the opinion I'm allowed to have.

The point is that Hardrock has a pathetic record when it comes to attracting and selecting women - it's interesting that Case chooses to focus on the positive, historically high total of 27
