But now that the rest of the fanbase sees that Dak is also 1-3 in his first 6 years like Romo, maybe now they will reevaluate their opinion of Romo. I honestly feel that 2016 was Tony's year (the best Defense for sure and probably one of the best Offenses Tony ever had in his career)

We played a last place schedule and our future looked promising but sticking with Dak in '16 was a mistake. His playoff game was just a precursor to any Dak Prescott game vs Quality opponent since. Come out flat and put together a buncch of meaningless stats to make it look close but still lose. No doubt Romo wins that game and then smacks Atlanta.

People seem to have forgotten how many times the center snapped the ball over Tony's head during the bulk of his career. Tony didn't have a good center until Frederick was drafted. Every time they had the shotgun lined up... it was a gamble where that ball was going.

Which is what I thought we moved too fast. Dak should have sat for another 2 seasons and kept learning from Romo. Could have been a Rodgers Favre situation. Romo was at his peak at that point.. other than injury.

He then spent his 30s with Dez Bryant and Witten was still somehow always open. Demarco Murray, before Zeke, multiple HOF lineman, dude I could go on and on tbh. Yall had real nice teams but never did anything with them. It blew my mind that Garrett was there that long. Romo was a good Qb and this is coming from a bears fan I really liked Romo but Jesus compared to most of the league the dude had it MADE with the talent the team had and never did anything with it his healthy years.

Yes the Cowboys didn't have a great defense, but they had players. And a hall of fame pass rusher. The saints had the 25th ranked defense in 2009 and won the super bowl. I like Romo, but he did have his shot before his body broke down. Dude had a plethora of talent around him compared to most of the league. And you're being a bit dramatic on the "historically bad". They were horrible a year or 2 maybe, but every year a new team has a historically bad defense. From 2007 to about 2013 Romo had a legitimate chance to get the chip, he didn't many reasons and he was responsible plenty. Again...I like him.but he's in the Hall of Very Good with McNabb. Aikman in his 3 Supes in 4 years went to the Conference game in the other year and was only stopped by pass interference that wasn't called. So he was close to being a 4 in a row. He didn't throw many touchdowns in the regular season as he and Smith were a 50 50 attack and Smith always took the short range ones. It's how Jimmy Johnson set up their team and It's what made them strong. Aikman never whined about it and he was a winner. When they needed more output from him in the playoffs he gave it.

Romos 2016 injury was a freak thing though, the guy landed on him awkwardly. 2016 was really the year where the league got overly soft and easier for qbs, so I think he would have been fine coming back as long no one lands on him awkwardly. I don't recall Prescott taking a hit that entire year. It was more, kind hugs. Wonder if the commissioner forced Jones to not start Romo. Because the whole thing was weird. Never seen anything like it, benching your best player, and all pro qb for a dink and dunk rookie? Makes no sense. Plus the next season Jones was going after Roger for having to much power, and I wonder if that's why.

Just thinking about it, mostly healthy Romo was 12-0 in 2014 (if you don't include the 2014 playoffs with the bs call), and 3-0 in 2015 with lesser teams than that 2016 team. That's 15-0. Yeah you take a chance of him getting injured, sure. But a healthy Romo would have been unbeatable at this point. There was no reason not to play Romo in that payoffs.

That's why he didn't work out anywhere else either. As for Miles Austin, injuries derailed his career (similar to Dez). He wasn't the elite athlete Dez was, but Austin had good IQ and was a great route runner. But he kept getting hurt. Never played another healthy season of football after leaving the Cowboys. And the offensive line complemented Murray. They were the biggest reason he had cracks to run through. Y'all Romo revisionists are delusional.

Dak have more than 3 wide receivers that can do damage to any good defense, he has 2 really good running backs, 2 tight ends more than capable an offensive line that at least is a top 10 if not top 5 and a defense this year more than capable of making a stop or creating a turn over when need it. So yes Tony Romo teams won't compare to Dak teams. Tony could play top notch football with the big boys like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers he might of not win but he always put his team in positions to win if the defense would've made a stop or two. With Tony Romo I would feel comfortable going into a 4th quarter with 14 or 21 down cause I had confidence that he could win the game and most of the times he did. So yes Tony Romo is a better quarterback than Dak and if Jason Garrett would've play him in the playoffs in 2016 instead of Dak things would've been different.
