Depends on where you go and what weapons you have. Minny used a 10-pick not a top 5 pick. He had the highest velocity on the ball. Great on third down which is important.

Not a vikings fan, but JJ reminded me of Brady 2.0 at Michigan as he was much more of a game manager and didn't make stupid mistakes. I think Vikings actually nailed this pick. It doesn't hurt that you might have the best upcoming WR in the game with Justin Jefferson. I just thought about it and it'll be JJ to JJ.

I’m a Michigan fan. McCarthy has a ton to prove in the NFL. He was in a run first offense and rarely threw the ball. He just doesn’t have the reps. His defense was #1 in the nation. He was not under pressure to win games and they didn’t win a National title because of the passing game (it was the run and defense). When they were in situations where a pass needed to be completed, he made me nervous. Those two pick 6s against TCU were a major issue that no one mentions….

From the reports, JJ's board work was very impressive. He's the prototypical NFL QB height, but clearly he needs several years of intense supervision by NFL trainers before he develops a frame that would be robust against injury. Giants have the #29 rated O-Line in the league. If you start him next year, I'd expect him the be a repeat of Daniel Jones who's injury history (Saquon's to) strongly correlates with the O-Line weekly injury reports and starting lineups. JJ is likely has the top 1-3 football IQs of 5 potential first rounders, and of course it is, he played under Harbaugh. But didn't enough responsibility in college and needs more time to develop his decision making and body. I like him the most, we love an underdog that has unpredictable potential

Man I watched the last few Michigan games, JJ was not a jump off your screen type of QB. He needs a lot of work to be on par with the top half of the QBs in the league. I hope he ends up somewhere he can sit for a year and ease into the pros.
