Imagine how many great QBs and/or championship teams may have never happened if teams dug themselves into inescapable holes by refusing to ever move on from a guy they didn’t believe could get them to a championship because they weren’t assured that they had an immediate risk free pivot. Steve Yojng wouldnt have gotten the Niners job. The Patriots would’ve never stuck with Tom. The Chiefs would’ve never moved to Mahomes. The Packers wouldn’t have moved to Rodgers. Those all had lots of risk over the safe option but long term were the right call. The Chiefs are the best example of a playoff team that underachieved and had a pro bowl QB with a low ceiling and they went all in to move past what they were and the media crapped all over it as much as they pretend they didn’t now. And their choice was a much harder one to make because Alex may have had a ceiling but he also wasnt getting paid at a level like Dak. In Alex’s final year starting his cap number was 10% of the cap and his average yearly at was 19th among QBs. Daks restructured hit is 21.7% of an almost $100M higher cap. And the results of that risk speak for themselves. And if Alex hadn’t been hurt it really could’ve been a giant win for both sides because Alex got a nice raise in his new deal with Washington and rightfully got paid all $71M of the potential guaranteed money on that deal. Extending Dak does nothing but extend the mediocrity and eventual explosion of kicking his cap impact down the road, especially when he wants to extend at the top of the market. If he wanted to take less to have a team I’d extend him but if he wants $60M a year just move on.

I would get Stetson Bennett and Carson Wentz, who's sitting on the bench in LA. Build a stud defense and offense around them.

As a cowboy fan I am so tired of hearing how if they let Prescott go they will have to rebuild next year. Did I miss it or did the 49ers go to the NFCCG with a rookie that was the last pick in the draft and then to the SB his 2nd year? Let's just stop with the BS and let his 60+ million dollar a year that he wants be somebody else's problem. Move Lance into the starting position and draft a rookie to be the 3rd QB and use the cap space that letting Dak go creates and load up on talent. The only reason SAS wants Dallas to keep Dak is because he hates them and knows he will get to see them get their butts handed to them every year in the playoffs.

It's a money move for Jerry. He's not worrying about winning the Superbowl as long as he's getting richer!

Everybody makes excuses for dak’s poor play, everybody blamed Jason Garrett, Kellen Moore, Mike McCarthy. They all had Dak as their QB. And the first two lost their jobs because of Dak’s inconsistency and turnovers

If they don't produce, Dallas will move on from both. To what will they move on to? I can not say. All i know is Jerry spoke to Jimmy Johnson about this. Jimmy told him: give them one more year. I’ve got one thing to say…COOPER RUSH!!!!!!!!! He continually comes off the bench and leads this team and plays better than Prescott. After Green Bay loss at home, I would start Rush and hold Prescott as backup. If Rush performs, trade Dak. If he doesn’t in 5 games, move up Dak.
