The jazz were prepared to trade Mitchell for 2 first rounders, 2 2nd rounders and RJ Barrett. As a Jazz fan I'm so glad the Knicks said no because we got a much better deal from the Cavs.

You know we have to trade either our young talent or picks soon. What trade could be better than a legit stud in DM.

I do agree that it would've been too much for the Knicks but I also feel like it's fair to say the cavs still did good. They gave up that much but still kept Garland, Mobley, Jarrett, Okoro etc. I don't know if that's my bias or not lol

To be fair, the logic of bringing D.Mitchell is broken but understandable, tho. RJ & Brunson isn't no.1 in any team. D.Mitch is at least good as poor man's no.1 or prime no.2 to build around. By bringing him, they will make a team of "almost complete". Add that with the allure of NY market, it will be a good attraction for an actual star to sign up for them. Sure its a stretch, but its kinda understandable.

The OKC thing was just pure talent of their drafted players. The difference with Cavs improvement they had mentor players like Rubio and Love to help the young guns progress, while the Knicks don't have those mentors.
