Always loved this song. 70s soft rock rules. Really like the line "So he takes a ladder, steals the stars from the sky, puts on Sinatra and starts to cry." So imaginative and it can get you in the feels.

Stephen Bishop had another big hit with "Save It for a Rainy Day". If you listen closely at the end of it you will hear Chaka Khan singing with him. You have reacted to 2 songs by her but she has many more like "Stop On By", "Please Pardon Me (You Remind Me of a Friend)", etc.

I love the line "Puts on Sinatra and starts to cry..." I picture the heartbroken guy trying to recover in the sunny beach spot. As a diehard romantic, I'd spend a LOT of time crying to Sinatra tunes before I moved on. I don't believe rebound relationships are a good idea. But I do salute the positive "head held high" sentiment!❤

There's no positive message in here in my opinion. He's just singing an ode to the brokenhearted, specifically those who've lost their lovers to others. I've always loved this song along with It Might Be You, which is a love song proper.
