Hey guys my name is Ace and I am so happy to be doing reaction videos so others can see. So if you guys want to continue seeing me react, please subscribe to the channel and don't be afraid to leave a comment as well.
I remember when this video premiered. I was at my friends house and had just dropped the first and only hit of acid I've ever done. This came on and they said I laughed like a madman. I didn't believe it was real until I saw the video a few days later.
As much as you liked this, I believe Jessica would be something you’d like at least as much. Especially the live video , it was recorded at an out door concert. I don’t recall where, but it was a sunny laid back atmosphere. Anyway good.job, will look for you again, thanks R Conger L
Hey Ace, I pray you all are ok following the hurricane! For those that don’t know Ace lives in the Caribbean and they were hit by Hurricane Beryl 5-6 days ago. I doubt he’ll have internet access etc for awhile. You’re in my thoughts and prayers!
If you want a good Clash live vid, check this out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rnliAafBYzU.html There was a short-lived live sketch show called Fridays (an attempt to bring competition to SNL) on ABC and The Clash played three songs on the show, including "London Calling," but this track, "Clampdown" is a perfect encapsulation of what they could do live. And this was before Sandinista!
Mine companies, as well as other companies that were oppressive would have stores or commissaries where the workers could buy stuff on credit. So when they got their paycheck most, if not all of it went to the company store. This song is implying that the miner is so deep in debt, he can’t afford to die yet because he still owes money to the company store.
Talking about wanting to tear up listening to the music like this from the 70s, 80s & 90s.......There's a reason they were all called Power Ballads.....because of the emotion they invoke in you when listening to them.
The references and relevance of this song pretty much has been the same so deeply spoken like a story teller telling someone this what went down back then and continues to do so today. Gives me chills each time I hear this song. His deep voice and melodic music is great. What he says has people thinking and reminding us how everyone was and still is being treated, and mistreated.
PULL IT OVER and 2 pints was just kickin the chopper in gear back then... Stewy (drummer) wasn`t just with the Police but his Da was a CIA agent & his kid in another rockin 70s band of ours that enjoyed a reggae influence with their jams as you picked up ACE and if this gets you going then you`ll like some more SO Keep on Rockin & giddyup ACE theHEART
Alvin and George were best friends. Then Alvins common law wife cheated on him with George Harrison. Its interesting that George does the slide solo on this tune. Guess friends trump wives.
About the poor and working people coming together. He doesn't believe the promises of politicians, take it to the streets activism! That's what I get from it.
