I was a kid when this stuff unfolded but I've never forgotten the exemplary courage demonstrated by this man and his family. Never will ❤

Thank you. What a courageous and decent man. The kind of doctor we need.

Afraid still happening in the NHS. Staff are too afraid to speak up due to the position and status of those directors/CEOs of Trusts. Same people with power who are responsible for your salary which one needs to support one’s family. Thank you for being a principled clinician, for having the courage and determination to speak up. You can go through the correct channels with your concerns but often it gets nowhere. Often you are shut down and eased out of your position- treated as the trouble maker.

2000 views and only 36 thumbs up - ?? Omg .... This is terrible! If they treat a member of staff like that - what do they do to patients who've complained - ?? This is very sad and very interesting and totally shocking!

I would love to contact this wonderfully moral Dr and have his help to ensure an NHS cover up does not harm yet more babies.

It's striking how all these senior surgeons behaved like schoolboys - don't snitch or I'll tell on you. When I worked in a London teaching hospital in the early 70s the cardiac surgeon (I wouldn't have let him cut my toenails) was so awful that virtually all his patients died either on the table or shortly thereafter. The hospital's cardiologists stopped referring patients to him so to keep going he relied on a supply from a former registrar who had become a consultant in Glasgow. I spent many hours on the phone to the Glasgow Cooperative Funeral people arranging the departed's return but nobody in a position of power did anything about him. It's got to be better for all, except arrogant and incompetent surgeons, that such matters have improved.

NHS is still sick..... Since we lost our grandson from negligence, and won, I am a firm believer in legislation..the only way to make changes to incompetence.
