Wish Simon, would give the interviewee some space to answer, and not keep (yeah yeah, right etc etc) and commenting or butting it, its not about you like on Talksport where you are there for opinions and views. - just relax, give them space, they will speak if comfortable and allowed to do so... let them storey tell..
Stephen’s Hendry was fit for purpose and had the courage of his convictions and beyond that he had priced it into his thinking but what has that got to with the price of cheese
Said it on this when originally posted and have said it on every single 1 to 1 he has done....he asks a minute long question, gives guest 5 secs if lucky to try start speaking and then boom, next 1 minute question...... he also loves to fill in words for guests as they thinking etc 😆
At his peak he was unbeatable. If my life depended on a snooker player having to pot an awkward ball in order to save my life, 1990s Hendry would be the one I’d choose. The man was a potting machine. He took snooker to a different level. Ronnie has obviously taken it further but a 90s Hendry was unplayable and had no visible weaknesses whereas Ronnie had plenty and still has a few. Hendry’s mental toughness was as good as his snooker ability.
yeah, you know what? no and no. dont give me this hendry lost it at 30 or 32 nonsense. ros, williams and higgins were all better players than hendry, even though none of them dominated like he did. hendry did what he had to do and he did it, no one can take that away from him. but he had no longevity for a reason and that's because he got passed by
@@mavenofmacau6391no Hendry got burned out, dominated for too long and when he reached 7 worlds he was done. He beat Williams and Higgins at the crucible.
@@mavenofmacau6391Hendry dominated like no one else. He was also the youngest to win the WC. Ronnie has only won 2 WC’s in a row. That will tell you how good Hendry was. People forget Ronnie is only 7 years younger than Ronnie but still couldn’t touch him in the WC at his peak. As Steve Davis said, ‘Ronnie greatest player, Hendry greatest winner.’
When you really listen to these proven champions you understand what separates them from the rest. I remember an interview Pete Sampras gave many years ago, he certainly wasn't out there to be a pal to anyone, he was there to 'kick ass'. Enough said.
The only player that never shows anger or upset at another player as he truly believe if he plays the way he wants to, not even Sullivan can stop him. N I agree
Hendry is not on Ronnie's level. All the BS about in his prime he was unplayable bla bla bla. Ronnie two two near ones for Hendry where the sun don't shne at the WSC SF 17-4 & 17-6, leads him 9-4 in finals. RONNIE O'SULLIVAN the UNDISPUTED GOAT 🐐
@@jlatirl4316 When Marcus WHITEWASHED Hendry 9-0. Post match interview & with the Guardian he called Marcus an also ran and Journeyman . Most arrogant twat that lied about yips because he was done by 30. It was the risen standards. The guy is phony.
Steve Davis was the first, it's the mentality of champions. If you can meet with triumph and disaster, and treat both those imposters the same. You'll be a man my son.
zen like,be humble in victory and defeat.football fans are like up and down like yo yos,no balance.and when their team isnt doing well, and look for players/managers/coaches etc as scapegoats.no stoicism
Stephen putting Ronnie in his place with the 147 in the final frame, after Ronnie came back from 7 or 8-1 behind. Pure Class. They're all lucky Stephen's cue got snapped, or he'd have 10 or 11 World titles. Losing to Ken and Peter were shocking defeats. As for this 92 mob, they all played for 7 years in the 90s and Stephen battered them all at the crucible. 9 finals, 7 victories. Oh and won it with a broken arm, anaw. Ronnie had about 2 world titles when Stephen retired.
Hendry can still play to a decent standard but not strong enough to be a winner anymore. He's old and his game abandoned him it's a sad story but nothing will change what he's accomplished in snooker and he still loves the game and is a commentator he has not totally abandoned it he plays now and then aswell. His legacy lives on with what he's achieved in the game nothing can change what he's achieved that's set in cement so to speak that's done and dusted so he's more than allowed to still play, win or lose it doesn't matter he's done his bit in snooker he has nothing to prove so he plays for fun that's a good thing kind of and if it leads anywhere fair enough if not it doesn't.
Played pool with Hendry’s grandad a few times while on my lunch break at work! Enjoying a couple of pints with him chewing the fat having a couple of frames! He was great bloke shame he was ostracised from the family!
@Glasschin-ot9ei selby entered the main scene when hendry was finished. Either with age or the so called yips. I’m not denying selby isn’t one of the great players but he is absolutely no where near Hendrys level. No where near. And I’ve religiously watched snooker since the 80s and played snooker since the 90s.
@Glasschin-ot9ei Selby became an established player when Hendry was past it. And he doesn't play to a higher standard than Hendry - quite the opposite. Remind me when Selby made 6 centuries in 8 frames like Hendry did in the 1994 UK Championship final, or 16 centuries in one world championship as Hendry did in 2002.
stephen hendry explains how he dominated the dregs steve davis whipped for a decade before the deficiencies of his overall game exposed him to the class of 92
Up his own! The only reason he won was because he was the only one half decent but not fantastic. Everyone else was pretty much terrible. See some of the finals with Jimmy white and Jimmy has a TERRIBLE cue action. He stabs the ball and doesn’t have good technique or control.
Nonsense. Hendry beat everyone at his peak, Higgins, Ronnie, Williams etc. For nearly 10 years at the crucible. People these days haven’t a clue how much of a ruthless winner he was.
Hendry is not on Ronnie's level. All the BS about in his prime he was unplayable bla bla bla. Ronnie two two near ones for Hendry where the sun don't shIne at the WSC SF 17-4 & 17-6, leads him 9-4 in finals. RONNIE O'SULLIVAN IS the UNDISPUTED GOAT 🐐
@@aussie5941 Bullshit. How exactly did Hendry win in 10 years ? Lets remember the standard he had to play back when he won so many titles the only real competitors he had was Davis and White. Ronnie won most of his titles with a much stronger field with so many top players that can win it any day just to name a few , Trump, Higgins, Selby, Williams, Robertson, Allen, Murphy the list goes on and on. So in conclusion he was a great player for the opponents he had to face, did he have any of the type of opponents I mentioned he would definitely not have won much or ANY.
@@aussie5941 Ronnie had to wait till has beenn Hendry retires? LMFAO When Ronnie was pummeling Hendry in finals as a 17 year old... @UKC 1993 Finals. Must be clueless nancylad! Ronnie owns Hendry 9-4 in finals, and tore new ones for Hendry at the WSC SF 2004/8 ...17-4 and 17-6, and won World title both those years. . So many players who came on the snooker scene like Selby , Ding etc etc were pummeling Hendry with winning records over Hendry. He was lucky to have played when he did. Its different gray now and why Hendry is the goat of good fortune, that couldn't handle the rising standards and emerging new talent Ronnie O'Sullivan is the GOAT 🐐
