Bill Russell brought 11 championships to a city he was disrespected in because of the color of his skin. Yes we're talking about the sport, but the mental fortitude it takes to be a second class citizen and still bring excellence says way more about the athlete

@@Cream-2128 They all needed one another, that's for sure. When Ortiz joined the Red Sox, he changed the team and made them believe they could win with how CLUTCH Ortiz was in big games. He has the equivalent of a Jordan or Tom Brady in terms of the clutch gene. Before Ortiz, i was a massive fan of "Big Mo" (Mo Vaughn). I seen him play a few times and was lucky enough to grab a few autographs as a kid. Ortiz simply took hitting to a new level for me, even as Mo Vaughn fan. An unbelievable talent. Brady is #1 no question. The level of competition Brady played against in his sport was far superior than what Russell played against. He only won 11 rings because the Celtics dominated and had all the good players in an 14 team league his last year and 8-9 teams in the league before that.

riiiighhhtttt Jets, Dolphins and Bills of old were GREAT teams huh? lets not forget two of Brady's rings came way of Adam Vinatierri. 1 came by way of the STUPIDEST pass play in SB history. lets not forget the EPIC collapse by the falcons that allowed the patriots to come back. but yeah, Brady did it all by himself

Because Russell won more/played longer and Brady meant more to the city as a whole. It’s weird to think about, but bird really is the third most important Boston athlete ever. Tripped me up at first too but there’s just no real reason to put him above Russell and Brady.

The only reason the Celtics are tied with the Lakers in terms of NBA championship is because of Russel 11 rings plus he was a better athlete then Larry legend.
@lloydbonafide3398
@lloydbonafide3398 2 года назад
@@smokinstan305 you got it backwards. The lakers are tied with the celtics not celtics tied with the lakers. Only reason lakers have 17 is because they included championships from Minneapolis and the league and media helps them out. The kings really beat them in that playoff series and espn is always tryna force a trade for the lakers by putting out false stories and making up trade scenarios. They even tried to recruit dame a couple years ago to help lebron lol.
