He did exactly what Steve told is the "moral' thing to do. To pay as little taxes as possible while abiding by the rules. Whoever has a problem with it should go to the government and complain about all those tax deductions that are in the law.

You have a fiduciary duty to serve your shareholder, within the law, to the best of their interest. If you invest in a company X, you're taking a risk of losing your hard earned money but you expect your money to be taken care of, and rightfully so. By investing, you are directly accelerating the wheel of innovation, serving society long term, but also creating new opportunities and jobs and markets and industries, serving society both short term and long term. The least you can expect, is your money to be taken care of.

He’s basically telling the students that if they don’t like something that is happening in the world to go out and change it

if you do what the gov. wants , ie. invest in building real estate, RnD etc you can not be taxed, its a win for everyone
