He went out, addressed and corrected the mistake, and then even dedicated time to highlight the winner, later. This is how adults fix problems. RESPECT.
I remember when this happened, my respect for Steve went up. Admitting to when he was wrong instead of having the network sort it out the next day like they wanted
@@DavidGonzalez-fd4pk he is ashamed, thats why he apologize on the spot, he show the card to make sure that he the one to blame, he call both miss universe to his show to apologize again, thats why i respect him. He took all the blame himself , not try to avoid anything, he face it loke a true gentleman.
@@nahdigaming2534 What more do you want from him, exactly? Do you want all of society to shame him into oblivion until his life is ruined? Do you expect him to never show his face in public again? He was clearly ashamed, and took it upon himself to promptly correct his mistake, a mistake that he immediately owned without hesitation, that he apologized for, and I'm sure apologized profusely to Miss Columbia again afterwards. Accidents happen, I don't understand why people like you insist on beating a dead horse every time someone makes a mistake, it takes a much bigger person to stand on national television and say "I screwed up" rather than let the network deal with it and cause a big headache over the following days just so they didn't have to admit their error.
@@whodatdere she had to take the crown from the wrong winner, very embarrassing for her and definitely not the moment she deserved. Still both contestants took it gracefully and she still did win.
i felt bad for miss colombia....but when i saw a video of miss Phil. crying backstage was so sad as well because the staff was the one who put the sash and crown on properly... 😌
Feel so sorry for Miss Columbia but at the same time she got fame. Congratulations to Miss Philippine she won in a hurtful way, take the crown from the wrong winner and on her head. Very embarrassing.
If you did your research you’d know it wasn’t exactly Steve’s fault, the dude in his ear told him to say the next name and so he did and the dude said good job Steve, then the dude told him 4 minutes later that was wrong and they’ll sort it out tomorrow in the media and Steve said no imma go handle it myself
+stuart she isn't even worth my time. If she has such low self esteem that she has to be rude to someone without a picture on their account then she must need some serious help.
Natalie Boone It isn't worth your time yet, you replied with another BS emotion. Seems like my comment affected you big time that you have to confide to a complete stranger here on youtube. How sad.
Damn thats got to really suck for Miss Columbia.. Imagine wearing a magnificent crown on your head for and then being decrowned after one minute; thats almost just as bad as coming in last place tbh. Poor Miss Phillipines too, she looked so awkward and didnt get as much glory from her win.
It wasn't entirely steve's fault. I'm sure most of you know this, but someone said through his earpiece to say the name AFTER the winner. He got confused and just said it. Massive respect to Harvey for owning up though
he cried and apologised only recently, and they both met, he never meant to do anything like it. Mind you he seems to be crying every day over something or other, but he meant those tears lol
I just hoped that MUO did not cut it. Miss Philippines lost her crowning moment. MUO should do something bigger for Miss Pia next year.Congrats Miss Philippines for winning Miss U.
Wow I just watched a short with Harvey saying he was sry and crying so I looked it up to see what he did that was so bad he cried and this is what he was saying sry for and crying wtf
The Earth would sink under me if it's happened to me probably Steve felt the same.......if now my stomach drops just rewatch the video. But Steve was handled it well as much as he could.......Steve you are great..
@@gregarious6662They had reordered the names on the card but did not change the teleprompter. Since they had taken it over from the previous organizers, they changed the format. However, one of the previous organizers who was still involved changed it back for the final taping. Which was not what they had done in rehearsals.
Well it was an understandable mistake. She might be the most beautiful runner up in the history of the pageant. And I am so proud of her for taking it so professionally and being so gracious about it.
I can't imagine that moment, the shock finally starting to wear off a bit, and right after you hear the correction, that same exact music that was playing for you plays for someone else. That would be rough.
I don’t know how it works and what you get out of taking first but as Miss Philippines I probably would’ve dropped out at that point. I accepted defeat already
I haven't heard about this until today (nah, don't watch many of these...). But damn! My respect for Steve Harvey for admitting the mistake and for Andrea Tovar for gracefully accepting the second place .... Damn, some good people there!
I don’t know why the anchors are making light of this and laughing. It must be devastating to think you fulfilled a dream you worked long and hard for only not find out you didn’t.
I respect that Steve didn't blame it on the teleprompter (after he came out with what happened) didn't even shed it off he took full responsibility and that takes a big person.
Thank the lord it was Steve… the only man who could do this and not get stabbed with a shoe… it ain’t perfect… but imagine, anyone else fucking up would be bad
Human makes mistakes, but pointing out someone's guilt in front of everyone isn't a good manner of human. So she is the one who needs to be given advice how not to be in stage.
still the best miss universe ever. 😂 i feel bad for Columbia obviously, but im Filipino and im voting for ph. but when steve reanounced that ph won its was the most mixed feelings we ever felt. we are jumping of joy, but feel sad and also laughing because its an hilarious mistake. seriously. it was the best. 🤣😂
