I see no lies told! EWF has been doing it for 50 years! Not many bands can say this. Even with the passing of its leader, Maurice White, EWF carries on with his legacy.

Another SOULFUL time Chaka and Earth Wind and 🔥 get up and get up and get it on!!! If you can take it. You can’t hide when yo soul is on fire. I don’t care what color you are. Soul is soul no one can take soul from you.
Wow!. Yo. Steve. EARTH WIND and FIRE 🔥.!!! I'm sitting here. Listening. Ruminating. Feeling feelings I felt when I FIRST heard those songs. TIMELESS BRO. Ain't but a few. Musicians or songs that can do that for me. I went so far down memory lane that I feel YOUNG right now. (And I'm 63.) Bro. My whole day. Has changed. Thank you.
I remember hearing the song “reasons” for the first time when I was 7yrs old in 1977, I was hooked after hearing that song having no idea who made it I just know it sounded good and as I got older I finally found out about the group EWF......been my favorite band ever since and I have all there music and still listen to them to this day my all time songs are “can’t hide love”, “would you mind” and “reasons”.....I’m definitely old school.
I'm so GRATEFUL they did this before Maurice passed away...I HAVE FOREVER LOVED THESE GUYS at the age of 10 to my now 47 years on God's green EARTH😍🤩😍🤩😍🤩😍🙌🏾
Amen shock a kahn is the best since years my heart mind and soul always believe in god Amen ! 59 years my heart mind and soul always believe in god Amen JoAnne yes !
Don't do that. Chaka's voice wasn't 100% but she improvised with what she had and did damn good. Philip couldn't touch Chaka with a 10 foot pole to this day.
Y'all to be honest I'm over here literally crying because that song You Can't Hide Love brings back happy times when I was a lil boy my dad had a music promotion business in Youngstown Ohio and we moved there from western Pennsylvania in the early 70s and he would play earth wind and fire ALL THE TIME and he had the 8track record stereo he had his chair on one side I had my lil chair on the other side and use to wait til he got home to play that beautiful music and looking at this clip just made more morbid because Gerald Levert Barry White and Maurice White are no longer here RIP and my dad RIP is no longer here this was a sad yet a joy to watch and a celebration at the same time. One love.
Oh man my brother had those 8 tracks. We would jam for hours. I was in junior high school but loved Phillip’s Baileys voice, that funky bass, the horns … killer band.
Damn that's the first time I've seen Chaka Khan sing Fantasy. Two of my all time favorite R &B performers. Chaka & EWF. I was one of those that had EWF in 8 track Steve Harvey.
Damn that woman that came out with Gerald just plain ruined the song. The question is: When did she sing one note on pitch. Geez, just let the master G sing! Geez.
@1980Triumph How did she suck? It was CLEAR that she wasn't in her best voice, but she DELIVERED and improvised as ONLY as CHAKA can, and only singers of her caliber can do...Now you go sit down somewhere!
v-el-vet Wynn : I would like to have seen Mary J. Blige up there with Gerald Levert instead. Those two together...with that energy?! It would have been OVER!
Amen. I'm happy to be 86 and have experience the greats that I have. In heaven I pray a gold have voice es like Phillip & Eddie. Eddie of the original temps. No one hits those notes like those 2. Anne for those 2 this on my play list under history and soul
Man I started listening to them like at 11 or 12..I'll be 58 this year.. I easily have listened to them 3-5 times a week my whole life.. symphony of my life
I remember my first time ,1975. I was a camp counselor for underprivileged kids from Boston. We were a mixed group of teens and young adults who just loved our kids and each other! WE were playing records outside on the real merry-go-round!#AGASSIZVILLAGE . The Cabin masters redid the area where the carousel 🎠 was and i was instantly transported back in time. This was also the era of integration and bussing in the city! I used to take the subway in to the "more inner city aka projects" during the year to see my friends! That is what music can do. We were kids who just loved even when the "adults" did not! I was then in the US NAVY in the 80's and EWF, Luther, Anita Baker ,Whitney , Chaka etc were a soundtrack and the music brought people to the floor and each other!RIP MR MAURICE WHITE. You made my life more valuable by teaching me to #livecolorblind. We all need to understand that in this time! 💘 😻 💜 💛 💚 🧡 💘
@@1stltwife Such a beautiful sentiment and experience..I so agree, it brought so many of us together from different backgrounds!! We need more people like you Gretchen!!
@@dmcarden Thank you! I do believe that we can heal this country if we just unite in being Americans. We are all a big giant mix of DNA. I pray that the split between us heals! I hope 🙏 this year is better than last. I am so disgusted by the behavior of some adults but I believe, "and we will live together until the 12th of never..our voices will ring forever as oooonnnnneeee". God bless you and 🇺🇸
Same here. 58. Growing up in the Deep South as a white dude, I’m thankful I was introduced to all this music by my black friends at that time. Even though I’ve gotten into lots of newer music over the years and even enjoying a lot of what the kids are playing these days (you’re never old hearted, like EWF says) I often listen to EWF and other funky music. Verdine is amazing. Ever thankful for these brothers in spirit.
95% of the songs weren't written by Maurice White, they were written by Al McKay. He was EWF. Phillip Baily said "we haven't made a good album since Al McKay left the group"
It was around 1975, I operated and listened to what I was forbidden to do by my big brother, Ernest (I was home alone). I snuck into the living room, turned on stereo record player with the HUGE towers, opened that album with that sexy woman inside, clamped on those EXPENSIVE cushioned head phones, and put the needle on the song "Shining Star". (Dunk-a-dunk-dunk dunk...) I closed my eyes. Oh, my Lord! I was in the studio with Earth, Wind, and Fire!! ...and I smiled.
