"The physiocrats were right." Excellent! Now if us alternative types want to return to this concept, we should return to creating capital from the soil through manual labor and sustainable cover cropping, green manures, composting, etc. I have been doing this for the last 19 years - 5 of them in southern France. The next iteration is returning to a medieval lifestyle. Faster or slower - it makes little difference. Just make progress. And I mean REAL progress in sustainability, not the false progress of money and machines.
Don’t get dreamy over medieval country life : a tiny handful of landlords and divine right kings owning 90 % of the land . Being a serf / slave at the tender mercy of the rich big land owners is Not a movie . I live in Texas , 97% of land is private, c90 % is big ranches , farms , timber companies .
It’s sounds like economists can develop a theory that suits their story. Along comes Steve Keen and tells empirical truth and he has to fight to get a platform. The world is slowly waking up, Bobby Kennedy Junior needs to give Steve a call
Where does the greater good of humanity as a collective comes in? How is that not the ultimate goal of our society? All those theories were put together under the wrong assumption of Darwin's theory. The fundamental law of the universe is cooperation, not competition.
