@@thomassmith8721 This the true version with the soul of the song. Never heard it until now and I agree. Much better than the commercial release. This is how Steve Miller originally intended it to be. Great to hear this.
It feels a bit off. I would prefer the lyrics sung to the same tempo as the '76 version, but the guitar in the demo is way better than the synthesizer.
Definitely the official (76 version). This one is just a demo and sounds very rough. They probably forgot about it until they started looking for old songs to complete an album just like the Stones did for Tattoo You. This is still not bad for a demo though but I prefer the futuristic sound of the later official version.
