Yeah it's a really good song to throw in with some that I know or I'm still learning the guitar when I heard it on the radio I played it that day in the community, my songwriting has grown and it possibly could sound simply beautiful. I'm going to keep growing with my music ability. The good Times are worth it!
I was listening to the car radio FOX101.9 and this Steve Miller classic came on. I gotta learn this one, Marty Schwartz to the rescue again, thanks Marty.
Cool one Marty... Not enough Steve Miller lessons on RU-vid... He also has some killer Blues jams, although he gained his popularity in the Pop/Rock genre.. Thanks for the video...
HEY MARTY! I’ve picked up the guitar numerous times over the years and always put it down. After discovering your videos I haven’t missed more than a day in the last 5 months. I just wanted to say thanks, I’m progressing very well, I think. Keep doing what you’re doing !
Marty helps by teaching... on You Tube,. We all can't learn ....despite our attitude!.... Progressions offered, well they sure do help... They are the building blocks...of musical wealth!! Go on .......take the viewers and run!! Thanks Marty!!!!
Marty ur videos are so helpful for me cause u explain it in a way that i can understand ive learned alot from ur videos man thanks and keep up the good work dude.
thats a fun song,,I grew up listening to this but never really thought about playing it,,,,,,,,,,until now!!!! thanks man,,its always really cool to get a notification from your site,,,I usually drop everything to see "whats up" cause i know its going to be fun.
"This here's a story about Marty & his beard too, their playin' the guitar & nothing better to do". Buckaroo please, in honour of Don Rich & Buck Owens. :)
I was feeling like I wanted someone to jam with, so I picked something basic and just followed along... like the old days. I mean once the lesson actually started it wasn't the same, but I still had fun.

Folks, this is an incredibly easy song to play. Don't get so hung up on learning is exactly like the record. It's the general feel that counts. I have seen Steve Miller play this numerous times and he plays it a little different each time. Also a little commentary here: young players learn the 'basic' chords in the first few weeks then want to learn 'the real stuff', well the basic chords are 'the real stuff'. Complex chords/music doesn't mean it's better. The most important thing about music is BEING CREATIVE. Thousands and thousands of songs have been written with 'basic' chords. Have fun with this song, it's timeless.
