Health and function are extremely different things. They relate, but functional =/= healthy. When I was at my largest, I could keep up fine at work, even work hard. But I was in no way healthy, and I never topped 300lbs in my life. Then I got below 220 (good weight for my muscle mass, but still a tad chubby), and I realized what healthy felt like. Less pain existing, able to literally run without dying, and I can actually keep up with my kids and responsibilities so much better. I don't want to hurt folks' feelings saying this stuff, and if you are happy as a bigger person, props. I just really enjoy participating in more things than I ever dreamed of before because I'm not in constant pain or sick, and I would love other folks to be able to experience that.

As someone who is transgender (ftm) i find the concept of Steve-o getting breast augmentation to be very fascinating. I wholeheartedly support it and i think it's a very interesting way to approach the topic of bodily autonomy especially in regards to plastic surgery. I totally get where he's coming from in the sense that this stunt is not to make fun of trans people, but rather something that might offend transphobic people. I do hope he talks to some trans people about their experiences with these types of surgeries (both augmentation and removal) so he gets the full gambit of what it's like and spread awareness of how important it can be for some trans people to feel comfortable in their bodies. I think he's such an intelligent guy and would probably find listening to some trans stories might provide some wonderful insight and fill a gap in his knowledge. I hope the journey is a nice one for him because i look forward to watching any content he produces about it. Perhaps it may even quell some of my own fears of how society sees me as a transgender person wishing to have (gender affirming) plastic surgery.

SAME! I immediately thought, "Did Dr. Mike just cuss?!" Nothing against it, I swear a lot in casual conversation. I agree it lends to the authenticity, you could tell by his cadence that it was his natural dialogue.

Hope I don't get blocked for telling people this, but it's something that most people don't know. I just found out about this, and I've seen the Google images. He's disgusting. Steve o had a ped_phile tattoo on his arm. It was of a man r_ping a baby. He has covered up the baby with an ostrich.

I respect the heck out of steveo for being real about his recovery. As someone in recovery 4 years I've seen so many friend sober for years and suddenly break, overdose and pass away unfortunately. It's so easy to fall off the wagon and for the addiction to come back full swing so fast, giving any excuse to use more. As addicts we find sense in nonsense in scenarios to use sometimes. I'm super proud of him knowing how hard it was to say I can take it this far and be able to medically use narcotics in a responsible way keeping his eyes wide open. He's got such a variety of fans it's so great for him to speak his truth so open and honestly. Thanks bro 🤘 Thanks to Dr. Mike for always keeping it real too.

I always enjoy seeing Steve-O in conversation. He has such a way to tell a story and keeps up a greta balance between comedy and seriousness. It also helps that he talks so openly about the dangers he has put his body through and what he has done to help himself with addiction. I truly loved this sit-down with him. As a side note is also great to see a bit of a different side of Dr. Mike and how engaging he is in conversation, plus the occasional foul word sounds hilarious to. me, jajajaja

Steve-o's diabetes story is kinda reminiscent of my diagnosis. Wasn't feeling well and went to the doc. A nurse did a sugar test and it was through the roof. She asked me if i was diabetic. I said "no". She responded with "I think you're about to be told something."

Dude, Steve-O is such a boss b!tch. Never have I ever heard someone else speak about struggling with feeling "happy" or "content" with such authenticity. From one Zoloft queen to another. Love you.
@randomreactions16

What he says about the question "are you happy" I can TOTALLY relate to. I have always had that feeling my entire life. It sucks, because I want nothing more than to BE happy, but like him, I also struggle with anxiety, AND depression. So it's like I'm depressed that I'm not happy, but anxious about feeling happy, because it's almost like a fear of BEING happy. Like how will I deal with such a drastic change in my life if I were to suddenly be happy, given that my whole life I haven't been. The whole fear of the unknown thing I think is what comes into play there, which consequently increases the anxiety, and perpetuates the vicious cycle.

On a side note, I have noticed that I am happiER since my daughter came into my life. Not to the level I would LIKE to be, but at least I'm happier than I have been for most of my life.

My uncle developed CTE from his time playing in the NFL may years ago, before any connection was made to the long term effects of repeated head injuries, and it ultimately cost him his life. I'm glad that they're bringing CTE into the conversation because of how serious it is and how little was known or understood about it in the past.

My father has been an alcoholic for over 60 years now. It’s at the point where it’s safer to continue to let him drink than not. He’s almost 80. Anyway, the other day he wasn’t feeling good. I went to check on him. I left to get him some stuff and while I was gone he said he threw up and it made him feel better. He needs to be on an antacid. I have not been going to the appointments but my husband has. I have been a nurse for a while and I asked about the acid reflux and treating it. I am going to go to his next appointment and get everything cleared up because I think there are some options that haven’t been explored yet. So thank you for the conversation about the acid reflux. It definitely put things on the radar that need to be checked.

I have other reasons too with how this world is run, and just how hard it is on children these days, and I could only imagine it's not going to get much better. I don't want to create in a world that's existing like this, if I still have a choice at least in the matter... 😐

My boyfriend actually had 3rd degree burns from hot oil in a kitchen, he said he slipped and had to choose between falling or dropping the vat to steady himself. He dropped the vat, and the oil shot up at his face and he jumped in the snow because the pain was so bad. He said his coworker was driving him to the hospital but my boyfriend told him to let him out so he could run him over, the pain was so unbearable. He recovered, and thankfully he barely has any scars. He once said if he had been disfigured he wouldn't want to live. I felt so sad hearing that because he's such a beautiful human being. I have burned myself before and I've hyperventilated and cried because it was so bad, I can't imagine how painful 15% of my body would be.
