Oct. 12 -- Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak sits down with Bloomberg's Emily Chang to dicuss the new "Steve Jobs" movie and future of Apple on "Bloomberg West." (Source: Bloomberg) -- Subscribe to Bloomberg on RU-vid: / bloomberg
He is so nice. He understands that the movie’s purpose is to build on themes and capture emotion and isn’t intended to be an accurate recreation of real-life conversations. “The movie is about personality, not reality.” Very well said.
"If Steve Jobs was making movies... this is the quality he would've had." That right there - a single line that pierces through all the criticism and equally respects the talents of Sorkin, Boyle, Jobs... beautiful.
I met Steve Wozniak once and he truly is one of the nicest people on this planet. He spent more than an hour with us, although we were an unknown, small startup from Germany. And everything he said during that hour came from a place of love and sincerity.
What is up with that reporter's exaggerated looks of constant disgust and bewilderment? It's like she's constantly hearing the most baffling thing of her life.
They re-edited this interview. I remember the original, she kept interrupting and tried to get him pissed off. Nice salvage. I will never forget how rude you were to this guy
+Tine Woodbe he wasnt talking about missing him as a person, how hes missed as a techleader, messiah cult leader Like she was implying that apple and the world is lost without jobs.
+where are the turtles He talked about how he didn't miss him as a tech leader. But she was implying if he missed him in general. He answered the wrong question... Because he didn't want to answer the right one. Even in the same interview he talks about how he isn't close with the Jobs family at all.
I feel bad for him he's like a big teddy bear that got used and abused by Jobs. He has a knack for that since he came back to this bitch for an interview after the disrespectful one discussing Ashton Kutcher's version.
She was struggling to comprehend that it's a film, and not the true story of what happened. I think she tried to come out of left field with the "Do you miss Steve Jobs?" question.
What the fuck are you even talking about, her questions were specifically addressing the fact that people didn't know how real the film was because theres been so many of them. Thats usually what reporters get hired to do... ask questions that the people want to know about. Why are you throwing around the word comprehend like you don't *understand* what it denotes.
@10:11 was probably the best piece of the interview. Asked if he missed Steve, Woz just purses his lips and pauses. I think that said a ton. The single most life altering person in his life and Woz actually doesn’t miss him, at least not as much as you’d think. The cost of being “the great Jobs”.
Man, you're right.. Can you imagine? What a bizarre, unexpected, and frustrating problem to have as a byproduct to the fruition of your life's vision, right? I mean, how do you navigate that, The idolism?
Woz is a sage. This interview was a tremendous lesson for me. His egolessness and acceptance of the disconnect between his lived story and popular culture myth is very inspiring.
Wow the fact that he was big enough to recognize the artistic endeavor of film making is more important than his feelings or ego shows he's a great guy.
I don't think Jobs was always like that. I think he snapped after they kicked him out and almost put his company 6 feet underground. _"If no one else will play nice, neither will I."_ was probably on his mind. Stocks don't go from 10 dollars a share to 1000 dollars for no reason. So I have trouble saying Jobs was wrong about anything related to Apple. The stock ticker suggests otherwise.
Night Rider Are you Honestly feeling Bad for a BILLIONAIRE? Steve Wozniak Got Rich doing what he Loved, so what if someone had to be a little Mean to him to push him there.
Yeah, I mean, it beats the stone-faced "professional" interviewer that never reacts to anything, but it seems so fake and forced. Then again, very few interviewers/broadcasters are genuine, bunch of talking heads.
Someone this genuine, with a moral compass that's always pointing towards decency, would never survive in this world of turpitude, if not for other "stronger" people protecting him from society's evilness. Not that he's ignorant, he's just a truly nice guy who seems like he'd rather help someone no matter the cost to himself.
Steve Wozniak I'm sure is one of the smartest ppl, but for me in its how he handles having a movie made including him. He's completely understanding of filmmaking and appreciative of it too, like the writing and acting which is some of the best. He completely gets the deal and how he doesn't want to be disrupting that process, awesome dude
I watched this movie last night and it was one of the most emotionally wrenching films I think I have watched, the unresolved tensions and unspoken feelings are utterly exhausting. But brilliant.
Not only is Woz a genius, you would be hard pressed to find a nicer person. If you need proof of this, watch the interviews of him when he was on Dancing With the Stars.
You can see the sadness in his eyes when she asked him about Jobs, that is so touching! I think that Woz whas the friend Jobs needed in his life. Woz is an awesome guy with a heart made of pure gold!
I finally saw the movie. It was really great. I think The Pirates of Silicon Valley may still be the best movie about Jobs/Gates (pre 2000, that is), but Steve Jobs had a great script and some of the best performances of the year. And of course Danny Boyle's always wonderful direction.
Woz is and always will be one of my heroes of technology. Not only is he able to conjour black f'ing magic levels of coding optimization, but he is also one of the nicest guys that exists.
What a turn around in point of view on a movie being real between this movie and the kutcher movie. He bashed that movie for not having incidents that happened.
+m4mario thats because kutcher jobs was a hokey corny apple cult fanboy porn and this movie clearly stretches thats its not meant to be taken literal. Its more like, songs, and song lyrics arent literal, but can still be "true" about whatever its about.
+where I just think he feels biased to this movie because he was consulted while this movie was being made. He is a nice guy at heart, but usually burps out stuff when people asks him questions in interviews. This movie was far far away from real. They could have might as well made lord of the rings with Steve jobs and his friends/family as the main characters.
m4mario it is real, its not literal. It clearly gives off it isnt literal, so its not a lie. . And the only person who seems biased is you. Apple fanboy / steve jobs bias. I agree with everything he said and I didnt get anything for it. Also he was consulted with the kutcher movie but he declined after reading the shit script.
+where are the turtles I did not like the kutcher movie as well. And no. He was consulted before the kutcher script was written. He declined because he was already involved in the Aaron movie and was "busy"(read reserved by a competitor ). Not literal? The Aaron movie had the exclusive rights to the official biography of Steve Jobs. Aaron used that as an opportunity to demonstrate his skill as a writer, while not doing any justice to Steve or why he mattered to the world or why people cared to watch a movie about him. No wonder the movie is a flop, immaterial of how much woz says it's great. If entertainment is what matters, then people will watch the Martian(which is what is happening). If it's not literal then this movie should be called called Pac man, happening in an alternative universe where the was a computer called Pac, similar to mac in the real world.
4:05 Can't imagine what it must have been like to be on the receiving end of a compliment like that from Wozniak... If II was apart of this crew, I would feel proud ever day for the rest of my life after hearing that!
Steve Wozniak needs to understand that it's not about what he said to Steve Jobs it's about how he actually felt inside. What the director did wad genius in itself, he gave Wozniak's inner feelings and thoughts a physical presence for the audience. the interviewer here is has not asked the correct questions to Wozniak at all. One question is all that's required "Steve Is this how you felt inside" and the answer I imagine would be a simple Yes. The director conveyed all Wozniak's feelings and beliefs in a few scenes and that's genius
Can We All Be Gracious Enough to Have A Friend And Business Partner Like Wozniak...!!!! Listen To His Words And You'll Hear his Heart W/ in his Words...!!! He is A Gift To the Planet..!!!
Its like this guy, my store boss, and my sisters dad just have the same mentality. Something about people like this are so positive and always just "going" I dont know if I could ever be that positive about everything.
