It’s crazy to me that some people can’t grasp certain things about fictional characters. Characters like Luke Cage and T’Challa are only played by black actors because it is literally part of the character’s identity. Casting a white actor as T’Challa goes against the entire point of the character. The difference is that most of the time, white characters rarely have race as an integral part of their character, which is why there is merit to the idea of casting an actor of a different race in that role.
James Bond is the wrong character to have this argument over. There is no specific race for Bond because "James Bond" isn't a person. It's a title. That being said, Hollywood needs to create new original characters of color, not use existing characters to blatantly pander.
The original books are disgusting, anyway. Bond's relationships with women in the books are very... rapey. The movies can get into that territory, too, but I don't think they ever reach the same level.

James Bond has changed actors multiple times, its a staple of the franchise. So James Bond has no solidified intentity. So i dont know why right wingers get annoyed of the idea of a black James Bond when Bond was never confirmed to one person, its more of just the role.

The thing is, James Bond’s race was only ever explicitly stated in a single sentence in only one book (Live and Let Die). His character is written that his race is completely incidental, it’s his charisma and talent are the important aspects to his persona. Anyone can literally play them as long as they have the characterisation correct.

I'm sure there are plenty of young black British actors who'd love to be James Bond if given the chance. Daniel Kaluuya for example, great and recognizable actor, very good looking and is also 32 years old, he'd probably be a great Bond if he and the studio wanted.

What happens if I tell you that James Bond series is actually based on a book that has a male Pacific lead in the books and the author,who is dead by the way, has said that James Bond is a male. He also went on to say that if they do change him into a female then the story would not make any lick of sense. So as a book reader myself, if you do change James Bond into a woman then you're basically being unfaithful to the books and you're basically going against the original author's promise to keep James Bond a male and not change them into a woman.

Crowder's take on female spies is telling of how little he understands about spies. It's a known fact that men spill the beans during sex a lot and female spies exploit that all the time, so the fact that a female spy can easily seduce any man would make her an incredibly good spy. In fact, there has been numerous times where that exact plot happened on James Bond movies where his romantic counterpart is actually a spy working for his enemy. This makes me believe Crowder doesn't even watch James Bond movies, he just wants to signal how much he hates black people and women.
