Steven Seagal shows off a part of his famous guitar collection, with historically significant instruments that have been owned and played by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Muddy Waters, Albert Collins, B.B. King and others.
@Mihai Albu You don't get it do you? I have met easily hundreds of guitarist in my life and not a single one of them has ever said I'm a serious player. LMAO. It was cringy like he was trying to prove something. Also half of the guys I met acted like they sucked and then they picked up the guitar and they completely shredded it. So again. The guy is just a big pile of shit whether he's good at the guitar or not. Just a shitty delusional person. He even acts the same way that he did in his movies. The roles in the stardom has gotten to his head.
beef nacos Yup, he’s terrible. I played bass in a few Chicago blues bands for about 20 years. Toured all over N. America and Europe, played a ton of big festivals and did a bit of recording. I’ve had the opportunity to watch and play with hundreds of very good, dedicated blues guitarists from around the world, including two of Muddy Waters’ sons. Played in a few house bands for jam sessions over the years too. So I can guarantee you that he’s the worse than the worst of anyone I’ve ever played with. He can physically play mostly the right notes and stuff, but he has zero musical feel or sense. I just stumbled upon some vid of him playing and couldn’t believe that people thought he was a good guitar player. He is 100% hack. I hope this is the last time I think about it!
@@1965JB I have heard this before about him and the thought gives me the same feeling. I have been playing for 40 years and never could play with a band that well because I make rhythm errors that piss off other band members. I could probably overcome the deficiency if I dedicated the time and paid for some help. I play because I enjoy it a lot regardless. I wouldn't go around bragging, only to get called out on my shit. Segal didn't play a lick through the entire video. The other buzz going around is that he isn't as advanced at martial arts as he claims to be either.
I've never been a fan of Steven Seagal's films, but it's his money and he seems to love and treasure his guitars. More power to him. Most players and collectors can not afford to purchase celebrity owned instruments so I don't see why knocking someone who can---and I am about as far left as it comes when it comes to economic systems. Yeah, he's not know for his philanthropy, but he seems to be a human being...unlike a certain high profile current POTUS whom I am not naming.
Strats single coil, floyd equipped 2nd to none. Steve has a very nice collection, another person by the name Neil schon also has stellar strat collection. I messaged schon towards his live video bringing one of his strats to full capabilitys. He messaged me in return with " Love-em) pretty cool of neil to acknowledge one of his fans with a direct message.
It is a well known practice of guitar collectors everywhere that the best way to display rare and expensive guitars is outdoors on a damp lawn. This proves that Segal knows what he is talking about.
kamaboko1 yeah i thought i was seeing things. I wouldnt put any of my cheap guitars on the grass outside like that, but im also not a self involved pompous ass who craves attention. Im kidding,im all those things but still wouldnt treat my guitars that way.
Steven even taught SRV, BB King, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page how to properly play the blues, using his thumb instead of a pick with the volume at zero. His playing has a magical air about it, especially in the parts where he continues playing even when his hands stop moving.
@@towlie337 I agree... I have been playing guitar in all kinds of bands for over50 years and I have NEVER seen a guitar player play electric guitar with his thumb alone. When a non player picks up a guitar the first thing they do is to strum the strings with their thumb. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Well...he was born Johnny Allen, so could be a true statement. His father legally changed his name to James Marshall later. That said, we all know that's not what this jackass meant! Stephanie Seagull probably has very little to no real music history knowledge.
@@OM10PYE Hendrix also had a 1958 or 1959 Flying V, a sweet 3-humbucker SG, and many other really amazing guitars. Guy was a musical genius but he was a little guitarded.
I know, he totally Seagalled that sentence! And I was so trying not to be just another hater, too! 🤣 Steven why d'you make it so hard! Y'know... Seagal is the perfect personification of how the rest of the world sees America, when the States think they're being so cool! *An overweight middle-age balding man* 😎 "Hi-ya Hi-yaah! And check out my 300 Stratocasters too, while I flex at you!!"🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 😆😆🤣Soz, not all of America all of the time - just a side of y'all sometimes.
Wow people who are so judgemental yet so wrong and so full of themselves. He IS a serious player and anyone that has seen him play guitar would know that.
Dragan He has some fans of his movies. He knows how to play guitar. He knows something about martial arts. He characterizes himself as a zen master. But in reality, he’s a narcissistic poser who’s never done anything original. He takes from others and claims as his own.
@@commanderthorkilj.amundsen3426 Stevie can play very well, Ive seen him play and his unique style of martial arts is no joke. You believe whatever you like, its your choice.
For those that don't know, Steven invented martial arts in 1625, invented the guitar in 1732, invented the first film with sound in 1928, introduced JImi to the electric guitar in 1965, became Bruce Lee's kung fu master in 1970 and kicked Jackie Chan's ass in 1996. Jackie is now demanding a rematch with all proceeds going to the foundation to protect goldfish in the Northern Province of Taiwan. But Steven wants a clause that states Jackie cannot use his right foot higher than his left kneecap. Discussion are ongoing. At the time of this news release, Steven has put in motion, a referendum that would rename Fender Guitars to Segal Guitars. News at 11:00......
Seagal has hit songs such as " Dust My Broom " .."Slow boat to China " and the classic ..." Me want the punani " ...thats not a joke they are all real Steven Seagal songs
right on, I have played nearly everyday for 12 years, and I have realized in the last 6 how much I suck. Would gladly go toe to toe with Segal, haha, "thumb technique" bhahaha
So if Hendrix had even 100's of strats why doesn't douche bag own one of them. Never saw any picture or video of Jimi playing that Jazz Master - i suppose there is some level of authentication associated with it vs yet another Seagal lie.
@@burningblueskyband Lol beat me to it, i won't put him up a notch, but even if i was he would most certainly still be well into the negatives. Its sad he has iconic guitars from BB,SRV and The Iceman but cant play for shite.
@@dunxy eh still I'm not saying puting them in a lawn is good practice but at least he cares about them If he wasn't a pompous prick, I wouldn't even care that he can't play good shit and would just think, good for him, alas, he is...
"Yeah, this my prize possession: a 1919 Ibanez Stratotelecaster, previously owned and played by John Hendrix. And this here guitar is made of a space-age material I retrieved while on the Apollo 13 mission. And this here's a..." Hahahaha, whatever, Stevie. Whatever.
@@onthedry8386 Steve's got one of them too! He can do roundhouse kicks, backflips, arpeggio diatonic scales and autograph fan mail whilst instructing Steve Via on improving his sweep picking.
You play a $100 instrument if it does what you need it to do and you like it. That simple. Plenty of well known artists used to play inexpensive instruments (eg Hound Dog Taylor, etc). Jeff Healey, who was blind, famously used to play a cheap Fender Squier because he liked how it sounded. He could have played anything he liked. . .that's what he chose. As to comparisons between cheap and expensive instruments that depends HIGHLY on the instruments you're comparing. For sure a lot of the cheap stuff IS junk and effectively unplayable. But its not always the case any more, because modern CNC machining has made building necks and bodies to high tolerances really inexpensive. Its just mostly comes down to fretwork, setup and pickup quality. I've played individual sub $200 instruments that, on their own merits, were really good; certainly you'd never guess based on the sound or playability that they cost so little. I've also played individual >$1000 instruments that were just terrible out of the box with bad adjustment, poor fretwork, etc.
“A lot of people don’t know this but the guitar was designed in Japan by a late 3rd Century Akido Grandmaster. I’m actually related to him by blood. In a way the guitar taught me more about martial arts than any living human ever could. I strongly believe one day I will reincarnate as a guitar.” - SS
@@dunxy i trained in classical and my technique for finger picking bettter than most of the the profession guitarist....I appreciate his style because i cant play this style better than him. so I do play guitar....
Watched a video of him playing and aside from his beginner thumb picking technique, it sounded very suspicious (pick attack didn't match, absence of noise from other strings, out of synch etc.). Someone revealed that they actually saw him play live, noticed the same thing and discovered that another guy was playing behind the stage while Steve faked the whole thing.
Yeah i watched one performance on YT and it was petty suss, he may have been playing some rhythm but there was no solo action from him and i suspect he was turned down very low in the mix most of the time. His singing, while not outstanding, wasn't actually that bad though, even though i can't stand the tosser i will give him that. His picking was honestly the strangest thing ive ever seen, yes some legendary players have used their thumb, but not the way this Seagull does!
Who gives a shit what Steven Seagal buys with his money??? If he wants guitars because he enjoys playing, that's his business. He doesn't have to be Steve Vai to buy nice guitars, there's tons of hack guitarists in this world playing nice guitars! Just walk into any Guitar Center!
marco abreo and what if I don't shut up? gonna cry some more like you're doing now??? asshat. I'm sorry I insulted you with my guitar center comment, I didn't know you were one of them lol
Great collection,so many jealous haters, I had to sell my two precious guitars to buy another vehicle I can't imagine what it'd be like to buy any guitar you want and then to be able to buy a celebrity guitar that's awesome I'm happy for him, it's better than owning a collection stupid cars.I got my heart set on a new Gibson L4 CES but it's got a price tag of 5 grand and I can Finance it for 4 years, sad when a musician cannot afford the instruments that he loves to play that's life ,I better start learning how to act.
If any one really wanted a guitar and loves playing youd buy one for a few hundred dollars. Proffessional musician dont need to spend 5 grand on a guitar
"I was born and raised on the Blues and started playing since I was in my Mama's womb and I paid my dues on the backstreets of Lansing Michigan which is actually the birth place of Delta blues" Steven Segal
When Seagal was teaching Hendrix how to play the blues back in the sixties he also showed Jimi how to sing like a black man. Steven is an expert at singing like a black man... Jimi learned it well. He was so grateful to Steven for teaching him how to sing like a black man, that he gave him his Stratocaster from Woodstock. Seagal has got to be the best teacher in the world. To this day Steven periodically brings Jimi's Strat outside and lays it on his damp lawn to keep the wood humidified, which is what we see him doing in this educational video. Steven really knows how to take care of valuable guitars. He is a world renowned expert
@@sccanj ... At least they don't act like Formula 1 champions. They just collect cars, like he collects guitars. Because they CAN. Doesn't mean he's a master player. Believe me, ANY good musician can tell you that.
All these people butt hurt that this dude owns all these guitars they wished they had the money to afford. If Steven is happy with his guitars, more power to him!
@@valebliz Seagal can play though. What's with all this pathological hatred of this guy? Oh yeah he's a heterosexual white Male that still has his balls. Why is that so threatening to your cuckold generation?
Five minutes after the interview, Chuck Norris broke out in a whirlwind of round house kicks and only one guitar was left on the ground..... a hello kitty strat 😂
@@gurzair998 yea but right before the narrator said it was one of Jimi’s Strat right before Seagul started talking about it.... don’t be a passive aggressive douche for no reason. If he’s wrong then you can correct him, I know you don’t call people “dumb asses” like that in person
If i let things define me like Steven Segal i would have never known about that $1M Martin Guitar. That was the most insane Acoustic inlay work i've ever seen. I've been playing for over 40yrs. I had no idea this existed. Amazing.
He's also got an insane collection of amps to go with them, many of those same artist guitars has the matching amp. I know One of the Tweeds that Bonamassa uses was purchased from Seagal. Nice hobby to have.
@@UMAMIMAMU he has like four Dumbles. Kenny Wayne has like ten made specifically for him. That said, it is a fun hobby. My collection pales in comparison, but I’m a working class guy. I do have a vintage blackface Vibrolux and few custom shops from fender and Gibson.
