This is legitimately fascinating. I know you would never do this for secret sauce and because it would be a crazy time suck but I would watch a 30 minute to an hour documentary about just the song making process for you guys.

One of the MANY things to love about the battles are the beats. They are absolutely wicked! Some are earworms that you simply can not get out of your head. Pair that up with the excellent lyrics, rapping skill, costumes and makeup, and you have quite the impressive product. As I've said many times, thank you for all the fantastic work. I'll try to keep my withdrawals at bay while you are on midseason break. Enjoy!

The beat for that particular battle was probably originally produced in FL studio on a PC. It's been awhile.

Thank you for showing us this because I'm into editing and I find it really fascinating to know how things in the ERB series are edited. I actually made something where I put different sounding voices on top of each other so I can understand why you do that too, regardless if its he "right" way or not. :)

You never think of these big youtube shows are actually large productions with all the stuff that goes into a full feature film. It's so easy to just dismiss the making of them as a camera, some writing, a green screen and a little studio time, and forget about the mutli-million dollar earnings.

I listen to a lot of John Williams and I kind of know the Jurassic Park score by heart. The music that they made for Steven Spielberg's part in the rap sounds Sooo much similar to this one soundtrack in the Jurassic park score.

At what point in editing the video, do you guys put in the subtitles?

great question. those subs (that's what we call them) can be little tricky so they go through a couple different sets of hands. one of our assistant editors takes the first pass and lays all the words into a separate premiere project. then i go in and tweak the timing, re-arrange things and do a spell and fact check. then we all take a look together cause usually at this point we've all been starring at computer screens for a million hours and are super batty and can easily miss stuff i.e. we ERB #2 we mispelled Hitler's name in the opening card lol. once we get all of our eyes on them we usually park the subs for a while and then once the battle is about 90% done we fly them in.

Awesome; a lot of people don't realize how much work you guys put in to your videos. I mean all that work just for subs; add that to the rest of the editing you do for your videos and you guys put in an insane amount of work. That's the reason why I love watching your videos, because you guys care so much about what you do, so please keep doing it.
