Tyler was properly educated in music when he was young. Theory, scales, intervals - he had that down. And here his voice is very clean, which he honed over the years along with being clean. RIP Jeff.
Some badass bass Sting plays, great with grooves, time and makes the band so tight, wonderful musicians, but I never had seen Sting as a sideman, a real pro!!!
Gotta disagree - bass lines very BORING. With his own music Sting is a Master , but, not so much playing other's music evidently. Steven Tyler's vocals STILL GREAT and Jeff Beck doing his lead style guitar.
Jeff Beck has been inducted into the rock and roll Hall of Fame two times and won six Grammy. But I don't think he got the " main stream" credit because of his style. But as far as I am concerned Beck is the best
My, my... How much "iconic" can you stand? (I'm embarrassed to confess that, as good as he is at so many things, I'd forgotten what a good, solid bass-player Sting is.)
Sting looks like he's digging it; I wish he would have sung in chorus though. Jeff Beck knows he can destroy on that any minute. Tyler looks like my stepmom.
The story goes that the Come Together cover took two takes because George told the guys that Jeff Beck was playing down the street- if they want to catch him...they recorded it, rushed off, no Jeff. Now Steven is on stage with him playing a signature Aerosmith song. Awesome. 😊
I love Jeff Beck - he is most awesome!!! I was lucky enough to catch him when Stevie Ray Vaughan was touring w/ him in the late 1980's - So Friggin Awesome - especially when they jammed together.
Each day I seem to find another music video on RU-vid that opens the door to another awesome memory from the golden era of music! With Jeff Beck on guitar and Sting on bass, this classic song sounds better than ever! Thank you for sharing this incredible moment in time!
Very cool. I could tell Sting was loving being able to just lay back and play bass for a tune, like McCartney when he's not at the piano and somebody else has the lead vox on a song.
I swear, Jeff Beck and Steven Tyler just keep getting better and better. Y'all are welcome to have a different opinion, if you want, but I'm sticking with mine.
Yeah, Sting was trying to put his own spin on a very simple but perfect bass lick, because he was absolutely sure he could make it better. Good job as usual, Gordie.
RIP: Jeff Geoffrey Arnold Beck Born: 24 June 1944. Wallington, Surrey, England Died from a bacterial meningitis infection at a hospital near Riverhall, East Sussex, England on Tuesday 10 January 2023, at the age of 78. 10 January 2023. (Fri 13 Jan 2023 19h24)
Absolutely Brilliant, what a lineup and that Sting and the Late Great Mr. Beck took the time to learn and play song with all of its breaks and yet gave it their own touches & flair took a Great Classic song and made it uniquely their own.. finding videos like this always makes the day better.
The guitarist on the right with the Les Paul is Damon Johnson, he's the rhythm guitar carrying the song. He's not a household name like the others and he's no slouch!
Damon Johnson *should* be a household name, as many great bands/artists he's played with... Brother Cane, John Waite, Alice Cooper, Whiskey Falls, Thin Lizzy/Black Star Riders, and Lynyrd Skynyrd! That doesn't even count the stars he's written songs for. Super talented vocalist/guitarist! ⭐
It's so nice to see musicians of different ilks get together, albeit Sting not playing the intro right, but who cares, it sounds great. I didn't know Sting had it in him...totally cool! And then there's Jeff Beck! God has just entered the building! He that can do no wrong.
Sting is probably a top 10 bass guitar player ever, he is sort of like Jeff Beck he sort of does what he wants when he wants the matter what he is playing
Sting is in a extraordinary shape. Saw him live w GREAT jazz musicians, Dream turtle tour. Tyler is tyler. I saw Aero in 77 Rocks tour. #Jeff #Beck pull IT through The #Legend a true artist that never cared for fame nor fortune, only to develop his art. I saw him along w monster drummer T. Bozzio, Guitar Shop tour. I was blessed indeed to had witness the #Master art ar his top....but was there anytime during his career that he wasn't at his top? Master Genious #True #Artist "Blow by blow" its a timeless masterpiece, one of the best recordings in Rock AND Jazz history #Thank #You #Jeff #Merci #Gracias
@@bobinthewest8559 wow.. that means that you had never noticed how great of a bass player he is, not to mention one of the best songwriters ever and a great singer with a unique voice? :))) oh and he's great on guitar too! ever heard of an iconic track called fragile? that's him on guitar,, something that any ''real'' guitarist wish they had written..
Steven has got to be freaking with Jeff Beck on the stage. A lot of people don't understand this, but Aerosmith's LARGEST musical influence was The Yardbirds and The Jeff Beck Group. It wasn't the Stones, Zeppelin or the Fab 4. There probably isn't a band as popular as Aerosmith that was more influenced by the Yardbirds. They worshipped them, and not just because of the guitar players. It had to do with the entire group and the songs they did. Although if you ask Joe Perry, Beck is God.
Jeff Beck and Steven Taylor are the top in their field . But if I had to choose between the two of them to see..... Jeff Beck hands down. He's in a league of his own
Jeff Beck is from Mars or something he's so much better than everyone else. Steven Tyler... Meh. It's way more impressive than Sting is there that Steven Tyler, sting is Elite as a basis and a much better singer than Steven Tyler
