Is Rose trans cause she changed her sex(gem type). Did Greg have babies with a trans rose quartz. if you feel like a rose quartz can you just be one. What if garnet felt like a topaz.

I'm a progressive liberal, BTW. I'm not attacking anyone, just kidding.

Yokai I never really meant to seem like I was attacking. I am more into the science of it and not feelings. Genderfluid is okay but honestly everything else is kinda weird to me (besides trans but that isn't a gender).

Didn't Rebecca Sugar outright state she uses Fusion as a sex metaphor? It's introduced like that when Pearl doesn't want Steven to see Amethyst and Garnet fuse like seeing it might mess him up. Makes it messed up anything Steven fuses.

Fusion is relationships in general. They can represent sex, but also they can represent all other types of relationships.

Like the previous comment says it symbolizes an relationship. It can be platonic, parental but also romantic (or even intimate). Either way its not sexual because they are sexless creatures therefore can´t have sex (but can have romantic relationships). Pearl doesn´t want Steven to see becase fusion ist still innapropriate for Gems for various reasons (but not sexual cause it can´t be). Herself wants only to fusion when it´s absolutely nessesary so it´s more of her opinion only.

@@effiek.8897 Pretty sure that is a post-hoc justifucation. Keep in mind what Rebecca said about Stevonnie's debut and it being a metaphor for puberty growth spurts. Being a child suddenly thrust into a maturing body. The Gems may be sexless beings but the symbolism and metaphor is very sexual. Then take the example of Jasper coercing Lapis into fusing. Her rape face and saying "just say yes!" no not help it look any less sexual.

I haven't got a clue what you were on about. And I feel like you missed the point of the show and the characters. Or you got it and used words and phrases that only makes sense to people already versed in Queer Theory. All this agender and presenting as female stuff seems muddied. You appear to ignore that gems can only be as masculine or feminine as their gem type allows, and not much further. Fluid is the very last thing you could describe the genders in this show. All Pearls are pretty. All Quarts are tough. All Rubies are short. However the show does make it clear that no matter how alike these characters may seem to others of their type, everyone is who they make themselves to be. Pearl being such a renegade badass genius is the best example. But this feels more relatable to body types or even race. Gender is included but it doesn't look to be teh focus. Pearl is at her core still a Pearl and acts like one. She does not reject who she was made as. She just chooses to be more than that. This goes against a lot of feminism which shames women who are "too womanly" and paints men as enemies. And that's another thing. Gender is all but ignored in the show. Masculinity and femininity are shown to only ever be personal things. No-one ever uses these traits to insult or judge others. Not even the villains do this. Not even against Steven the only male gem. The show's message is that gender does not matter, and that's fantastic. Unlike in feminism where gender is more important than your name. Whilst celebrating who you are, and encouraging you to strive to be more than that, SU also tackles relationships. This is a part that is so huge I shouldn't even try to describe it all in this comment. That is a topic for a video. One that's already been done, and pretty well. Not saying gender isn't a good topic too, just, it's easier. And talking about feminism especially is easy, cause the entire show is extremely anti-feminist. Anyway dunno if you were confused, or I was not the target audience. I managed to get nothing from this video sadly.

Boys dressing like girls or two girls fusing to make a cool person or every character being a women and the show being made by a lesbian are all great examples of how this show promotes gay lifestyles
