Steven Universe is back after the huge revelation that Rose Quartz was actually Pink Diamond! Now We're Only Falling Apart kicks off this Steven Bomb strong with Pearl giving some back story on her relationship with Pink Diamond and how the rebellion got started. Have you Every the phrase "you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs" It's mean it is impossible to achieve something important without there being some bad effect The Rose quartz being pink diamond scenario and the gem war basically sums up this entire thing for me

Kind of reminds me of the 1973 gangster movie "The Sting". Each time you watch it is a new experience because of revelations that change the equation. Steven Universe is having that with these reveals.

Oh no... I just had a terrible thought. You know how Rose says "let's never speak of this again" and most of us have interpreted that as a seal that made Pearl unable to speak about it? Well it didn't take anything special to do that so what if Rose accidentally commanded Pearl to continue loving and "imagining" them together when she said "don't ever stop"

that's the same thing i thought...especially considering Pearl was taking orders from her without actually thinking and she did/said things that influenced what Pink did. so maybe Pearl too that as an order

is it sad i had the same thought? Rose said please don't ever stop because she was so, so happy that pearl was starting to be an individual and she never wanted to take that away. she never wanted her to stop being an individual with her own wants and feelings. but at the same time she might have kept her from moving on without realizing it in the context of the situation. she forgot she was her diamond and her orders still had an effect. i'm hoping that wasn't what happened though.

The Answer was not post-shattering. Garnet was with Rose and Pearl on the battlefield, in a reformed outfit, not the cotton candy outfit, when the diamonds launched their retaliatory attack immediately after the shattering.

Again, the “shattering” did not happen before the Answer. The Answer was near the beginning of the war, the fake shattering was at the end. Pearl and Pink Diamond lead double lives for a major part of the war, a 1000 year war. The shattering ploy was to make the other Diamonds leave. And it worked. And also backfired. Pearl still “belonged” to Pink Diamond in that moment. She even calls her a Diamond in that scene.

Indeed. I was always wondering what the sequence of events were. So it is clear that while Rose and Pearl alone started the Rebellion, Garnet was the catalyst for it kicking into high gear. After that, Mamma Bismuth joins the fight, with Pink's "Shattering" precipitating the corruption wave and the end of the war.

I don't think that by the time of the answer rose has faked her shattering yet I do believe that pinks shattering happened after the answer as we did see in one of garnets flashbacks that they had faised pink diamond in battle before and we also see that by this point rose did not have any other jems other than perl on her side and she also didn t have her sword so no bismuth and I do be live that it was pinks shattering that caused white diamond to join

Exactly. In “Your Mother and Mine,” Garnet had some facts wrong because she didn’t know them. But, she did know the war’s timeline from her own perspective. In that episode, she said that she fought along side Rose and other Crystal Gems, gaining more followers, even humans, over a long period of time. But then they started losing the war, and according to Garnet, Rose shattered Pink in a last ditch effort to end the fighting for good. The Answer = near the beginning The Shattering = near the end

Pay attention to the context. She meant that in the senario she imagined Rose wasn't her Diamond so Pearl didn't belong to her.

Does not confirm it beyond a reasonable doubt, but it certainly makes the case much more compelling that "our" Pearl was from White Diamond's court.

at the scene where rose and the amethyst were waiting for the last amethyst to form but then left i believe that it was our amwthyst they were waiting for,because her placement was 8x something.

It was. "Our" Amethyst is 8XM, facet 5 cut 8XM. This was a tie back to "That Will Be All" and "Back to the Kindergarten".

Although I also liked how we saw bits of the Answer again, I always imagined a lot of time happening between Garnet's first fusion and when she met again with Rose, cue their song and montage. I'm a little confused on how in this episode, Garnet stumbled upon Pearl and Pink while they were just talking about her, arguably for the first time judging by how Pink was still amazed and just remembered that Garnet might be in trouble.

I agree. Memory is a funny thing, so that could be the reason as to the difference. Pearl and Garnet may have remembered the event differently. Add to that, as Rebecca Sugar has pointed out, everything in the series is suppose to be from Steven's viewpoint. So both flashbacks could be how Steven interprets the story as told by Pearl and Garnet.

2:46 Not just that. We also know Garnet formed in the first place because Ruby wanted to protect Sapphire from getting by Pearl. So Sapphire is the centre in the creation of Garnet essentially.

I think Pearl was given to PD before the Earth as a first attempt to make PD stop complaining about being treated unfairly. I don’t think this worked for long, and the the other Diamonds gave in and then gave her the Earth

That's the very key to Pearl's motivation... she was GIFTED to Pink, not MADE for Pink. Pearls are forged for a specific Gem to make such Gem happy, to which Pearl admits her many failed attempts to make Pink happy. If Pearl was indeed Pink Pearl, she'd have congruent color schemes as the other Diamonds' Pearls. Furthermore, other Pearls have similar Gem placement as one they're made to serve: but why isn't our Pearl's Gem on her naval and near her "Third Eye?" Perhaps a Higher Authority sent Pink Diamond our Pearl...

it was the best epiosode of the show i really like the caall back to the ansewr and messge recived because pink dimond was talking with yolwolw d and our pearl and yellow d pearl were next to each other and same goes blue d and her peal and i also love the call back to that be all when yellow tells her sing blue d to make feel better it got me thinking if adimonod was sad her peals job would to improvew their owers mood that felling was put into over dive the episode
