One of the hardest things I ever had to do in my life was right and read the eulogy at my late Brother's funeral. The other difficult thing I dead was made a cassette of all the songs he would have liked and this was one of the songs on the cassette. This song asks the question and I answered... My brother was 2 years older then me ,he was born in 1958 and he and I suffered victimization of the worst kind together and when it finally ended we were messed up!!!! BUT ,we had eachother and as we grew we suffered the whiplash of it over and over again ...Tony overdosed the first time when he was 11 years old , the next time he was 14 . But he was an amazing person always had his head in a book and where we grew up there were fields and lakes and rivers and he was such an explorer ! We would ditch school and go fishing or snake hunting and he knew everything about snakes and lizards and horn toads ..I mean everything! We would catch snakes and he would put them in bags in his closet and withing a week he would carefully and gently take them out of the bags and he and I would walk to the pet store each with a snake hanging around our neck and he would explain to the pet store owner all about that particular snake 🐍...Tony was like that with everything he was a walking encyclopedia ...but the nightmares of the past kept catching up to him all Tony wanted was oblivion , he became a 'Heroin' addict ...in those early days the word 'addiction' was not in our vocabulary didn't have a clue!!! We were raised by a single parent who worked 2 jobs most of the time so 'NO ONE' took notice ...but me ...but I was just a kid and truly didn't know what I was actually seeing ...time went on inspite of trauma and drama ALOT of trauma and drama and not connecting the dots ...long story short Tony lived to be 35 years old and died of an overdose . His body was dumped in an alley because that's what they do when their friends overdose , no one wants to be caught with that but the detective told us that he was kept somewhere for at least 18 hours before he was dumped ...Tony took all the pain from the past to his grave ...he nor I EVER told anyone about the things that we went through as small children . My mom is 86 years old and still clueless ,what's the point now ¿ ...anyway inspite of everything I'm still glad that I had Tony all the time growing up because we had a BLAST together and always loved eachother to the end ! I believe that this world that we live in will end someday with all of its crushing ways, it's wars, it's drugs ,its abuses, it's greed, it's selfishness, and a New World will begin Psalms chapter 37 is just one of the many comforting scriptures in the Bible.....basically the truth of the Bible is amazing from beginning to end we are told 'Why' 'How' 'What' and 'When' ...we are truly near the end of time in this world and our beautiful planet will be preserved and we will see our loved ones such as 'Joey' and my brother 'Tony' again in a much better world 🌎 John 5:28,29 J.W.ORG. is a website that has many wonderful features and is completely Bible based 🙏
I've always been a Stevie fan since the 80's and remember this song like it was yesterday but it took new meaning when my mom passed in 2003. Nope i'm not over that yet but it helps when Stevie is singing. Mom liked her too.

Life just has a way of putting things out there in the universe. My son’s favorite song was life‘s been good to me so far, and when my son died I listen to this song not knowing she wrote it for Joe Walsh when he lost his daughter Emma. It was as if Jimmy was saying I’m here mom.
