I discovered Stevie a couple months ago and I can’t stop listening. I’m 21 and so glad I found him now timeless guitar playing. RIP to one of the greats
Yeah I discovered stevie when I was 15, I accidentally stumbled across the el mocambo voodoo child video (because I was a Hendrix fan). I’m only 17 now but my admiration for the name stevie ray vaughan only grows stronger. Really a true master of his trade.
How in GODs HOLY name, do you put a thumbs down? Bunch of LOSERS, this man had more talent in his right pinkie than all of you put together, Stevie was and still is one the best guitarists of all time!!!!!!!! I would have given.anything to see hiM live. I guess we will meet in paradise. SRV, rest in peace.
Some One I've been listening to Stevie since I was born, and one of the most refreshing things as a guitar player, or even just a listener, was to come across the live gigs where he played the songs he did in the studio(the way most people know him). He is/was one of the few musicians who sound better live than in studio, although that's just my opinion. But it makes sense, because Stevie didn't start off as a recording musician or studio guy, he was playing at bars and local gigs in his hometown and around Texas, before he got a label or started recording with Double Trouble.
@@Sam22music Totally agree. Texas Flood @ElMocambo, Voodoo Child at ACL’89. Life Without You at NJ’85, Iowa State Fair’87; But, the most “ferocious” playing I ever witnessed, was Stanhope, Waterloo New Jersey shortly before he died, the brief but molten, solo to “leave my little girl alone” is worth a listen. All the more impressive w/ heavy gauge strings, high action off the fretboard.
Most musicians have a limit to parts are their body that can move to the beat in sequence,Stevie dosnt. Plus the ability to slow his guitar and dance on the stings all while in top 5 greatest players and possibly the fastest ever
wow, nobody does it like Stevie!! .. makes it look easy and effortless.. what a God given talent.. he put blues back on the map in the 80's .. nobody could bend the strings like him, something he learned from one of his main mentors, Mr. Albert King... I remember the first time I heard this song.. blew me away!! we sure miss you SRV.. the blues will never die.
It’s my Pride and Joy watching Stevie playing with heart, soul and passion every time he performs. The one and only Stevie. He is truly a Blues legend. We miss you Stevie.
Still miss ya Stevie. I get tears thinking about what could have been but a pilots error ended it all. This man will live in our hearts forever. RIP brother.
Stevie Ray Vaughan is the best dressed man with an electric guitar on any given day or night..r u with me? And has a singing voice that will airwave across any given continent.axterrific band and there not missing a beat or thottle..Stevie is a great entertainer and every performance he does with class..RIP Stevie
Stevie's not only playing with passion, But also with Heart and Soul. SRV Oct 3, 1954 Aug 27, 1990 RIP. My girlfriend and I will be going to visit Stevie and his parents's graves next year.
Pimp of the nation, "Alright, Ya got it", I'll have to buy one to put down. Because I play with one that's got his first name on the front of it and fender on the back.
+S Pag Back in the day, I was so glad when he went clean and sober, but I must confess I love this particular rendition of Cold Shot knowing he was probably wiping coke dust off his nose and grinning at Tommy. I have grandkids named Stevie and Vaughan. ...
Could you imagine what 10 more years would have wrought, I think the universe realized the human race couldn't handle that level of beauty and talent. Our heads would have exploded, he got so good so young that he had to be taken or the bar would have been so high there would have been nowhere left for anyone to take it.
Yes Cheryl. SRV is a bad ass musician hands down & the sound/recording for this concert in '85 is simply amazing..I always thought that this track had a Hammond organ some where embedded in the arrangements..What a talent.
weho1233 This song is everything but not easy... To sound EXACTLY like him (i don't mean the gear) is really complicated, he makes it look easy altough..:D but ofc not as hard as rude mood or Scuttle-Buttin.
Whenever I watch SRV it reminds me of when I was three and I had a little toy guitar and whenever my father would put a SRV dvd on I would jump up off the couch and pretend to be SRV
Its a crazy world, but what can possibly have gone so wrong with your life to lead you a thumbs down on SRV? The worse it gets the better he gets IMO..
Hey Stevie, You are dearly missed, Amber and I will be coming to visit you, Your mom and dads headstones once her and I moved In our own place In Winston Salem NC. So Damn glad I'll be moving in with her Once she's out here for the 2 weeks!!!!!! Bless your soul babe, Together til the end.
This is a custom Fender Stratocaster style guitar made by James Hamilton.. It was a gift from Billy Gibbons. James later went from NY to Austin and created Hamilton Guitars. ...and I tend to agree with Marian, " do I care? he fuckin nails it"
I remember listening to several on a radio station out of Austin before his first album Yes I said album I live in south Texas when his album released I took to Memphis none of my friends ever heard of it they were fucked up have mercy
God, I like that guitar 🎸 and SRV makes it look like playing guitar is so easy! Not true but it was for him! RIP SRV Now that I think about there are more great musicians and Icons who are dead than alive! SRV, Hendrix, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Elvis, Prince, Jerry Garcia, Bonzo, Keith Moon, Bowie, Marc Bolan, Ray Manzerak, Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell, etc. I mean if there’s a Heaven they have an incredible Jam Band!
I just picked up a genuine Earth III White/Black Notes guitar strap exactly like the one Stevie is using! I will wear it with pride/homage at my next gig! Hopefully some mojo will rub off on me! lol!
Hey Stevie, Amber and I broke up again like I said In your "Crossfire" video. This kills me Stevie, Bad!!!!!! Hate having to find a girl here, Especially when her and I were gonna come visit you and your parents' headstones once I was permanently with her In Winston. I was gonna Propose to her Stevie!! Thanks for being there for me through this. RIP SRV!!!!!!
my question is not how he plays so good but how does he play with such intense? every time i try to pull his song and play like him ( which i can't actually) i get tired in seconds
It's called cocaine and alcohol, Misho. It wasn't always good to play with such intensity, which is why he became increasingly composed as a musician after he kicked his vices. Riviera Paradise is testament to what he became and foreshadowing of what he was going to become. TAKEN TOO SOON.
