How the hell can anyone thumbs down this song!!!! These might be the people who need to hear his words more than anyone. Bless you SRV. ..I'M WITH YOU !!!!!!!!!!
If you don't find love listening to this song you aren't able to love. So many people find a reason to hate, one day love will find its way into everyone,
Seeing Stevie play live was akin to a religious experience at a tent revival on a hot Saturday night somewhere down south. Stevie was the preacher or the vessel if you will that scripture flowed through, thus allowing his guitar to speak in tongues.
My husband loved, Stevie Ray Vaughan! He see him many times, and loved everything he done! My husbad passed on July 2nd. 2015... So... this song, means so much, to me! " Life Without You "...Thank you, " SRV"... I Hope ,he is listening to you play, in Heaven...

Thirty years today. And still hurts. You were taken too soon, just when you were sober again, and healthy and full of fire. In your prime. Life without you sucks, SRV, but your music and your words keep healing this fucked up world. Peace and love to you all, and take care.
@@sgtjimbo4505 You were such a fortunate one, in the presence of such greats. What did permeated out of that show was an incredible performance by all musicians involved, specially SRV. He was one of a kind, and second to none, before or after... He will always be remembered, missed and revered!
@@rohanroll Used to think that I grew up in the wrong generation until I realized what a great life and time it is to be here. This dude said more with his hands and a guitar than most could say in a lifetime. And even did it better than everybody else.. pure soul and a talent that don't come around too often RIP - SRV

I do not believe that you die and that is the end, Maybe life begins after you die and are reunited with the Higher Power which will lead us to those we have lost, love and miss.

Poor baby. My sister was 14 when our mum died. Death us hard on us living. I love Stevie for being so humble and kind. So sorry for you love. May God heal your heart ❤
Sorry for your loss but definitely know how you feel my first son died at 4 weeks old he would have been 40 years old this Easter I break down so bad it's something no one can come grasping the pain I think of also it's awrap😊
All of the late great Stevie Ray Vaughn’s singing the blues and the fact that he was and always will be the best and greatest guitarist that ever lived. I love you and miss you SRV. RIP, I hope to see you in heaven and jam with you in heaven with the other great musician’s up there with you and my loving family that I lost way to soon, just like you Stevie........
Hands down the best ever, there really hasn't been anyone take it any further then this man. He single handedly revived the blues because at the time SRV stepped into the picture the blues was all but dead. Man what mighty big if not impossible shoes to try and fill and just think it's been over 30 years since we lost him and his playing style, passion and love for the music has yet to have anyone even come close to matching . Now that's what I call legendary , you know I believe some things God only allowed there to be only one and this lady's and gentleman is one of those. I remember when I first heard SRV I was blown away because I thought I had heard about all there was as of music, but man could SRV hypnotize you with his playing style that was like watching water flow. When he took the stage anyone who played with him had to take the back seat because this man was gonna steal the show and have you know he played with all the great blues players from Albert & B.B King, Clapton and so many others and no one could come close to what he could do. A quote from Clapton was that Stevie never seamed to get lost he would just take it to another level. A true master of his art. Thank you Stevie for blessing the world with the best heartfelt blues music this world will ever know.
"And the guy that's down there on the ground and needs some help, you don't walk up and kick him. If you're gonna do that you better wear his shoes for a while. Cause you know what? Trade places with him and he'll pick you up. It's the truth" -Stevie Ray Vaughan
Stevie wrote this beautiful piece after the loss of a friend - Stevie Ray Vaughan was a huge talent but more than that he was an incredible human being..........
Amen. I listened to one of his sobriety speeches at an AA meeting (It was on RU-vid) - towards the end of his life he became a deeply spiritual person who loved God - and his fellow man, as heard towards the end of this song. ...I wish I could have known him personally. He's right - what we do in love is what really matters.
mydogspet Thank you for those lovely words about Stevie - you are right - I always felt Stevie was a very special soul - he went through so much in his short life but I think when you suffer it makes you look at life very differently and makes you more compassionate to others who may be going through tough times- you realise what is important in life and that is to love - miss him and his music so much - bless you ~ Lorraine :))
Lorraine Ashby, you are so right. There is a depth to those who have suffered and come through. They have more empathy and sympathy for the hurting. ...I love seeing compassion in action, which is why I love this video and hearing him speak towards the end.
Pure, intensive smoldering from start to finish. His guitar play was the only thing on earth that could perhaps overshadow his amazing voice. We will never again see his equal. RIP SRV. We were blessed for the time God let you be here!
"You better pass around as much love as you can in your lifetime, that's all we really have to give or accept." SRV gave us so much to love in this lifetime. "It's the truth!"
Isn't that something.... what he said.... "its the truth" .... it brings tears to my eyes.... because it is the truth..... I like it when Stars ... are just down home... and .... remember.... for they went through the .... hard times I would say ...to go and have been hungry.... wondering where they are going ...wondering they are going to lay there head to rest.... to get where they got to.... He remembered and acknowledged... I was so saddened to hear of when he died.... I was just getting in to his music....you were taken from us way too soon... you still had a lot of music to play and words to convey... your wonderful and amazing guitar playing skills will always be remembered....your memory lives on in the millions of people that you conveyed your music to ....RIP my brother. RIP Stevie Ray Vaughn
Stevie Ray Vaughan...my name is Stevie Ray Hendrick...and i just wanna take this time to say thank you so so much for being you and sharing your gift with us. You are and always will be my idle. I love you much and I will always idolize you. Rest in Piece forever my brother
I saw Stevie at the wiltern. for the first time in 82 or 83 he blew us away. Saw him 3 more times. Wish everyone had the chance also.. God bless you Stevie. You saved my life.
When Stevie stops playing his guitar and starts speaking at 5:27 he gives one of the absolute best sermons I have ever heard! The Message of Christ delivered succinctly, clearly, and with love. I miss SRV's contributions to our larger community.
@@jamesdean8022 Are you kidding? Have you read what Jesus of Nazareth said? Read The Sermon on the Mount, the story of the Good Samaritan, or anything else from Jesus of Nazareth and get back to me.
@@malamuterescueandrehabilit400 no, didnt hear him mention Jesus once. Ghandi, MLK, All kind of people have said these things. Again, timestamp me where he mentions Jesus.
@@jamesdean8022 "After graduating from Crozer Theological Seminary in 1951, Martin Luther King pursued his doctoral studies in systematic theology at Boston University's graduate school.". Martin Luther King, Jr. was an American Baptist minister, so I am going to make a huge leap that, as a Baptist Minister, his message drew inspiration directly from the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. Stevie Ray Vaughan was also a Baptist, so again I am going to make a huge leap.......... I hope you caught my sarcasm with the words "huge leap". Had you read Jesus of Nazareth I'm sure you'd hear His Message in the words of BOTH MLK Jr, and many of SRV's lyrics. Clear as a bell starting at 5:27 Have a good weekend.........
I played this at my husbands funeral. We were married for 22 yrs. but I knew him for most of our lives. Our motto was All You Need is Love. Thank you SRV for bringing my thoughts and soul back from the abyss. Maybe you ran into my hubby in the there after. Again thanks you most beautiful of human beings.
None of his live performances are the same, and they are all absolutely fucking incredible.. he is one of the few musicians who truly played from the soul. I was born after the guy died and I still feel an emotional connection to him.. Coming off of drugs and playing even better, what an inspiration. RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan
This man was filled with the Holy Ghost. Honestly believe God took him so he could play in heaven. The best guitar player that ever lived. A man after God's own heart. He inspired so many people.
The library of congress needs to have this song in its archives and I'm not being sarcastic. It's WAY TOO POWERFUL a recording of a GREAT SRV SONG to loose in the dust. CHILLS.
Damn, you see how many times he makes adjustments to his guitar? All during a solo? 3:18. Each time getting subtle differences in the sound. He does this like 10 different times, all the while not missing a single note. It was probably just like riding a bike through the park for him. Extraordinary guitarist by far.
"Life Without You" was a song Stevie wrote after the untimely death of his great friend and mentor Charley Wirz. the song shows his love for Charley and how much he truly missed him. The White Stratocaster Vaughan played that was fitted with Danelectro Lipstick Tube Pickups was made by Wirz with the help of Stevie's Guitar Tech Rene Martinez.
Well hello baby, Tell me, How have you been? We all have missed you, And the way you grin The day is necessary, Every now and then For souls to move on, Given life back again Fly on, Fly on, Fly on my friend Go on, Go on and live again, Love again Cause day after day, Night after night Sittin' here singin', every, every minute As the years go passin' by, by, by, by A long look in the mirror, We come face to face Wishin' our love we took for granted A love we had yesterday, Cause Life Without You All the love, you've passed our way Angels have waited, for so long Now they have their way Take your place....
It's not sitting here singing, it's second guessing every minute. If you Google the lyrics, it says "sitting here singing" but never once have I head Stevie say that. He says "second guessing"
Lord have Mercy! Supreme guitarist with a perfect blues voice. Can you imagine what he would be playing now if he was still with us? Such a loss...I've played guitar for 32 years and my jaw still drops....Never a missed note....
I don’t think there was anybody that knew a guitar like Stevie, he knew every nook and cranny of a guitar. Never felt so much passion watching someone play. Just doesn’t get any better than srv.
Stevie Ray Vaughan was cut short in his short life in a helicopter crash and Stevie will never be forgotten and he changed his life and got off drugs and alcohol and then the crash happened..great band..Stevie is a music legend to this day and fans around and over the world will lwys remember Stevie by his music and songs constantly going out invthe wind and the sound of Stevie' sensational performance and entertainment to all..RIP Stevie
I'm still so heart broken over Stevie. This song is one of my very favorites. It took a long time until I could listen without breaking down. Hes such an extraordinary entertainer with angel personality. I just hate the way he had to get to heaven. Play on Stevie ,your fans are still here and will never forget you. Love you till the end of time!
@@jfa689 It's true that the great ones are only here for a short time and then they're taken away. Life by the drop is also one that is him. Keep playing the blues!!
Words cannot express how beautiful this song is, one of the best , still bringing me to tears all these many years later as my wife died 95 and songs like this remind me we all have losses and life is still wonderful, rest in peace SRV
Mom looooved her some Stevie Ray. Her passing was so sudden. This was the first song to come on the Stevie Pandora station. No other song seemed to fit the bill. It was played during her services and Lenny at the end to walk out. " The angles have waited for so long... Now they have their way.. Take your place.." So very true. The prettiest flowers are always picked first.
Twenty five years listening to this song and everytime I hear it, I see my best friend who passed away R.I.P. Bull. We loved to listen to Stevie together. His music was our music and now so much more, a very special place in my heart Life Without You...
He lives in my heart along with Elvis and a few others..I saw Stevie and to watch him and his soul flow through that guitar ..He makes me cry and feel some real feels in the heart. Gone but never forgotten..3
I guess he knew this song was about him. It seems it was written about him. I know hes still playing that guitar. I hear him every day. Miss you stevie . I will forever be your fan. Love always
@@DaddyyCrab they say music soothes the savage beast, music soothes the soul, what would life be without it? SRV was definitely put here to do that. Hes gone physically, but his spirit and his soul will never die. His fans will make sure that his music will remain. And all of the songs going thru my head right now ,one still stands out .....life by the drop. Glad to know a fan!
5:29 " ya know there's a lot of Love that goes on but we don't think about it until we need it more than ever, cause it's gone... It's up to us to carry on a few new rules. like if we go on through our lives taking from each other,,, You can bet your life we are gonna give it all up in the end...But if you go through your life giving all the time, all you have,, You already had it , you gave it, you never had a problem. And the guy that's there on the ground and needs some help,,, You don't walk up and kick Him. if your gonna do that, You better wear his shoes for a while ... cause you know what, trade places with him he'll pick you up. It's the truth, You better pass around as much Love as you can in your lifetime. that's all we really have to give or accept....Are You with Me. -' Stevie Ray Vaughan
Words we should all be living by IMHO! God gave us 10 commandments. Jesus only gave us two. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." And, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Just think what a wonderful world we would be living in if everyone lived by just those two commandments, JMHO.
+Tim Hoover This has made both my girlfriend and I cry. makes her think of her Grandma. she's been gone a year now. Makes me think of my grandma and Grandpa on my dad's family! RIP
My brother Greg died just 3 months before Stevie. He lived in Austin when SRV was just starting in the clubs. He made sure I got to see him 5 times live, in some amazing venues...dancing in the dirt drinking Pina coladas and fried chicken&potato salad I made earlier that day. My hilarious brother screaming "Look at Little Sister" along with SRV live. I always contend when he got to Heaven he started raising Cain for some live rock. He can take the blame. There's one heck of a concert up there!
Man I wish he was still here! Well he'll always be in out hearts. His music was so awesome and guitar skills were unbelievable. And yes I'll say it "He was the greatest guitarist, singer and song writer of all times. Really!!!
3:48 Stevie does a 2 step bend on that lick. On what I assume were 13 gauge strings. Takes a lot to do that on much lighter strings. And he does it like it’s nothing. Such a legend
I been told CHUCK'S GUITAR put bass frets on his axe necks and he had a grip of a 🦍 in his left 👏👌,I read somewhere maybe guitar player magazine years back🤔💘 ,I miss him dearly my friends !! 😢
And the action of his strings was set high also. Jeff Beck said he tried playing a D chord on one of Stevie's guitars once and couldn't do it because of how high the strings were.
@@Arlo4511 There is actually a lot of debate. Some people said it was really high some people said it wasnt. But i know this from experience: high action makes bending a lot easier. The thing that is hard about is is that you very easily mute strings when hitting chords (mainly open chords). But the way he got over this is by not playing open chords much. Now another thing is he pretty much always had his left hand covering all strings and pushing them down. This actually is what i like about high action. Its easier to mute the strings and always hit every note hard. I had such high action ones that chords were actually out of tune. (this was around 8mm on 12th fret i believe). So it wasnt as high as that. Its probably on the edge of being out of tune. Again its impossible to verify by someone saying it felt high because they can only compare to what they were used to. Do with this what you want but i thought it would be interesting to share.
+javier gallegos I couldn't agree more. Hendrix soul was inside Stevie and it showed. Hendrix died September 18, 1970. That was 45 years ago. That was 15 days ago and I remembered him in my own special way.
javier gallegos if anything to some angels or souls. god is one and all. and the earth he made for us to roam while we go throught the only true test,of love,of honesty- truth,to fix ourselfs. some will say ? couldnt he make us perfect? sure the allmighy could, all his ways are rightous .gave us the choise,u are what u do. dont get confused of all the good people suffering, its nit in vein, all hes ways are just/ for the good.
This guy went home way too early. He is sorely missed here, but as many other said before me, he is now among the other gods of music (Hendrix, Harrison, BB King, Lennon, Morrisson, Freddie and many many others) having the best time non stop.
This song just gets me every time.....and how he breaks into the guitar solo after the speech is like no other, just unreal how it sounds like it feels
