Like the others, well, at least one other has said “Third Stone From The Sun at El Mocambo”. Back in the day, if you lived in Austin, you saw Stevie around on the regular. One day, I finally got to meet him and shake his hand. Dudes hands were f’ing huge. I immediately looked at his girlfriend and felt sorry for her, large hands. To this day I have no idea how he can play and not mute notes on the fretboard.

@@cathymcmahen271 I’ve watched that video at least 100 times and it just doesn’t get old. As a matter of fact it gets better every time. SRV had the total package. He was a fantastic guitarist and singer, but what made him such a great performer was his taste in fashion plus his swagger and stage presence was something people were drawn to. His playing ability just shot him up into stardom.
anything he's done at the el mocambo is straight lava....heres some DID YOU KNOW: did you know that stevie couldnt read or write a lick of standard notation?? so when hes on stage he's playing entirely from memory, his solo's are also pure improv. although his songs sound similar every time he plays them there are always some changes.
If you are older than dirt, you remember Mary Had A Little Lamb from kindergarten or first grade. Who knows how old it really is. In the original version the lamb had fleece that was white as snow. In SRV’s the fleece was black as coal.
Love how SRV can go from precision to dirtying it up while the strings bleed; not all Japanese speak English, but Lenny & Stevie speak the universal language everyone can relate to. Enjoyed watching someone relatively new to his music take it all in & digest it thoroughly; bon appetit Charles.

Stevie Ray never does the same way twice he always switches it up because he does it by ear he doesn't play by music notes or anything like that he don't even know how to read them
