I am so glad I am not a spender. I can only imagine how irate people who have made a small or a large investment are feeling today. The worst part is Scopely will not even bother to compensate the player base to any reasonable degree . The will always offer platitudes
It's even worse then we first thought. I was able to put in a ticket and I demanded a $100 August resource pack for every member of my Alliance! There is No excuse for this going on with this great game. What a complete disappointment and Clown show Scopley has made of Stfc.🤨
Thnx Rand (nice rant) long login about 10 min pls many reboots, more than usual at least 10 -15 times today so far. The most annoying is when you warp to a system and it takes 5+ min to show the mining nodes etc. I'm on the phone to my internet provider for another issue so I have time to kill ;-(
It's my fault the game is broken. I went from ops 39 to 41 2 days ago PLUS i spent $60.00 on a pack. Probably caught Scopely off guard. LOL ( By the way, thanks for posting this...i came SO CLOSE to thinking it was the fault of my tablet and "ALMOST" went out to buy a new one. Now i know for sure it's Scopelys fault )
Agree! You got to hit them in the wallet to make a difference. The question is how frustrated this day will make the whales and dolphins in the game? Sigh.
If I would see myself enjoying the game and still playing 6 months or more from now (I’m a first month player) I would be tempted to spend more but it seems every month for quite a while it has been “do i quit now” and not gonna throw $$$$ away
I've been playing since 2019. I used to buy every $20 battle pass. I haven't spent a dime since Feb 2024. I think this is the year I finally quit for good. I can't remember the last time I actually had fun or felt challenged. It's basically a button pushing simulator. Push button, receive a treats. It's not fun and adding non Star Trek content is a huge slap in the face.
And with all this being said, I was just able to log in 'normally' for the first time in 12+ hours. Still so much to talk about though with the state of the game. From a business point of view, this should be a relatively easy situation to overcome. Should be.
As much as I agree with you, it’s the new content that brings in the 💰💰💰so they’ll never stop bringing out new content in a month. That isn’t to say though that they could build on existing content (a lighter touch) and bring in quality too. Irony was that whilst I watched this video it was interrupted by an STFC advert 😂
Tell them to get rid of the thousands of 0 Unknown abandoned ships! They have to be a huge drain on the servers to maintain the locations of them all, plus the game client has to work harder rendering them when a player enters a systems full of them. Then there are those ships sitting on resource nodes preventing players (especially new ones) from mining. It makes the game look bad and I bet that's why so many players abandon the game, leaving behind a Realta and often a Fortunate and Orion Corvette.
10/15/24 still messed up, I, warping to Romulan space for the 25 Lvl 29+ kills daily challenge and my ship , while at warp for 2 or 3 minutes, is lost. I reset it and she's just sitting in spacedock waiting
There is an easy fix...hire more people and have a decent long term objective!! All they care about is getting paid! Not happy players! What lame gift will they give us for this? GREAT vid Rock on!!
I agree completely. There are bugs in the game that are as old as the game. Don't get me wrong, I love this game despite how much grind they keep shoving on us. But quality just doesn't seem a priority for a game that charges so much money for additional content.
I sent a ticket in yesterday morning saying stop with the new content until you fix the game. Spend a couple of days and totally fix everything. Boo hoo the investors will lose money for a couple of days, but if it’s totally fixed see how much $$ they get in the long run
they have the ability to fix bugs, or to hire someone that can. but fixing bugs doesn't make money. as long as I've stuck with this game, two years now, I realize it's an idle clicker with transactions (sorry, not microtransactions when the packs cost more than groceries) and Star Trek window dressing. but people are still spending money and Scopely isn't going to change things until the investors' wallets get hit. a lot of my long time alliance-mates have moved on, getting to be there isn't much left keeping me around.
Do they fully refund recent purchases? Especially the Grabthar Hammer which was a timed exo that was hard to get much use of when long period of time with these game issues.
I was a computer programmer a long time ago. This just looks to me like bad coding with no standards imposed on the programmers. Error handling, error routines that don't crash the program. Walk back the last update and start again at the least. Stop trying to cram new content in 5+ year old code.
Exactly what I've been saying all these years. It's laziness, no one is going through the coding and finding the mistakes. And now they've ignored it for so long it's a daunting task to do, so they really don't want to do it. It just compounds.
When it tries to display two or more screens simultaneously or when it glitches out switching from exterior to interior on the station, to me that says one thing - race conditions. I'd bet there are multiple places where they have two or more processes that have to complete in a specific order and they're relying on simple execution speed to ensure they do so. But if something causes things to complete out of order, then it glitches or hangs. When I first saw it (on my phone) remove most of the exterior of the station but *not* zoom to the interior, I thought it was neat that it renders the *entire station*, interior and all, when viewing the exterior. It makes for fast switching of view. Just stop rendering all the outer bits and do a very fast zoom in. No delay in loading the models and textures because it's already loaded. But if something causes a bobble in the process of doing the removal and zoom, it gets stuck. Well written software *must have* code that controls any processes running at the same time (truly parallel or interleaved or other methods of multitasking) to ensure they start and end in the order they are intended. Did A finish? If yes then allow B to finish. If A hasn't finished then hold up B or don't start it. A bit like how Windows 95 could have Explorer crash when shutting down and get stuck with Explorer attempting to automatically restart while the core system was attempting to shutdown, and every time it commanded Explorer to quit, the process running Explorer was sensing it as a crash and restarting it. The most infamous case of software race conditions was the Therac 25 series of radiation treatment machines. That resulted in several dead people. Fortunately the bugs in STFC aren't going to cause anyone physical harm, unless they throw their phone in frustration and it bounces back and hits them, or they punch their desktop monitor.
I admit I'm no IT person but I'm not surprised. They add content over and over again. At some point they can't add things to the servers without issues. At some point the cup can't get any bigger. They could spend a month fixing bugs and merge more servers to allow the game to get to a point where it's able to be played without issues.
Just started playing a couple of weeks ago but must say that I have dropped it again or should we say they dropped big time with that piece of crap app,. Crashing over and over again, all it can do is showing an video and then it stops working. STFC - you have been ruled out of my universe.
Hey, what about it's a merchandising strategy??? After watching the new arc video, when they crash the Enterprise at the dock... c'mon! Does it not match the whole idea???!!! LOL LOL LOL
Alot of the new stuff i cant access because im below lvl 40 😑 Lol their choice of words is hilarious galaxy quest crashes with star trek fleet command….😑. They told us what would happen 🤣 Every game designer ever had been pulled into releasing games that are broken and then releasing patches to fix it so im not surprised that scoply is doing it too….cause bungie bethesda and other gaming companies have already done it. Its cheaper for them to have their player base test their games and report bugs then paying a team of game testers. 😑🤔
Why does Albion Online and Genshin Impact have such smooth gameplay? Why can't scopley do whatever their doing to get the same results????? Or at least sell the game to one of those 2 companies who will take care of it better. So Sandbox Interactive Is albion online and miHoYo is Genshin Impact. Either ask for [Advice] Or [Sell] scopley! It needs to end! We want smooth game play!
I'm not being racistes by what i'm about to say but you do have to take into considération who bought scopely. Let's just Say that they didn't have movie cinémas out in thé deserts where thé only transportation was camels and donkeys. They did not grow up watching startreck like we did in the developed World. So now thèse Camel jockeys are the one's pulling thé strings
