Watching this video is bittersweet. I used to be a huge Subaru fan and have owned Subarus in the past. Unfortunately, Subaru has lost its passion for those of us who have been waiting for years for Subaru to finally create a new STi. Instead, they introduced a controversial WRX and no STi. It has been almost 17 years since the STi has had any real meaningful progress. Same engine for so many years, same approximate power level, the weight was constantly increasing and the handling becoming worse and less raw. I appreciate this video and the team's spirit, but Subaru has lost its appeal for us enthusiasts.
i am driving a 2022 subaru wrx and with an ets intake, a professional ecu recalibration (called a tune) on ethanol 50% car is making 410whp and 480wtq. Hows that for a 2.4L 4cyl engine? And i am not done, thats 22 psi now, next stg2 turbine for 30psi and 550whp.
@stijanjija2225 That's great and sounds like fun, but you had to spend your own money and time to upgrade a brand new car and have also lost your warranty. Now that the car has more power, you still have mediocre brakes, the same rest of the driveline, and the same suspension. All of those things were made for a car with less power. Subaru has failed to keep up with us. When I bought my STi in 2005, it could compete with BMW M3s and other renown sports cars. Today's WRX, or even an STi, is now a joke compared to today's M3. Subaru should have been able to provide us with a 400HP STi by now from the factory, with a great AWD system, weight savings, outstanding brakes/suspension, neutral balance, etc
@@AMSpeedDemon to each its own. You are assuming a whole lot. Like first thing i ordered was Carbotech pads and suspension upgrades to keep up with power. Spent about 2500$ of my money to make this power and smoke stock m3's and today a 540 (b58) on e50 bm3 ots map. Guy asked me if i was twin turbo lmao.. in talks with Samsonas in Portland for sequential transmission since stg2 turbine going on for 600whp. Don't assume. Car looks stock by the way, you wont tell what hit you. (had 60k miles on e50 and 375whp on my 2015 wrx without one issue, e-friend)
@stijanjija2225 I agree about the "to each his own". Glad that you are getting what you want out of your WRX. I also used to run Carbotech pads, they're 👍. BTW, when I meant STi vs M3, I meant around an actual track. Not a fan of drag or just acceleration racing. You would not smoke a stock M3 around a track with comparable drivers. Years ago, Subaru delivered something competitive off the factory floor.
@@AMSpeedDemon perhaps not but 400awhp on worst day and 475awtq at 3450lbs. Where does stock m3 stack up? Dont know cuz i dont track but i know I will smoke an m3 joining a hwy on a ramp.
