Honestly it would be a cool concept to have a stickybomb launcher that does explode after a few seconds, and sticks to players, but deals generally less damage, and does not allow for stickyjumping.

Given the value you've supplied, I'm going to hazard a guess and say that the timer is represented using the IEEE 754 single-precision floating point format, as it is suspiciously close to the maximum value of that format. To keep things brief, when I write 'largest representable value', I mean the largest representable value of the aforementioned format. Subtracting one from the largest representable value yields the largest representable value. In fact, subtracting (16777215/8388608) * 2^102, which is approximately 1.04 * 10^31 (with unit seconds, approximately 2.3 * 10^13 times the age of the universe), from the largest representable value still yields the largest representable value unchanged. That's actually pretty clever. Since ingame tick timer (time is int) and the explode timer are different data types (there's no way anything but floating point could store that number, and they set it to float max), they can never be compatible and match up, making the bomb last forever. I wonder who came up with this, but knowing Volvo they probably just stuck the largest number in there.
