Not yet. Give it time. Someone who’s very depressed and hates their own life will do everything they can to stop this. It’s absolutely disgusting people are out there like that. But they are most definitely there. I wouldn’t be surprised if AA demands payment from stig for making money off of their equipment. Even though stig is just educating the public and showing the upmost pride in his job. It doesn’t matter though.

But it benefits the airline to show this, in my opinion. So cool to see how the planes we fly on are taken care of!

Thats why you dont see the videos at some of the “contracted” labor company employees doing the same thing. No offense to anyone, but I can only imagine a Oimco or AAR video 😂😅

Hey Stig! The trash bin position on the R1 door. This is probably due to a trash bin not being accessed during flight but being used during normal operations and just to use all space in the AC. Could you imagine if this is where they put the portable O2 bottles or First Aid Kit. The big drawback I can see is if this became a potential fire hazard. I wonder what the procedure is for a fire in the this trash bin. Could be an interesting exercise for the Flight and Cabin Crew. I take it there is no access from the bulkhead. Never seen much Airbus except as a passenger. Flew on a USAir one back in 2013-2014. Staff were knowing the end was near which made it a little uncomfortable. That old merger with America West put the nail in the coffin. Go No Go items like cabin flashlights, certain bulbs and first aid kit seals are fun. Curious as you seem at ease with all aircraft yet some of your contemporaries don't like certain aircraft like working the 737max and the E190. I heard one AME call it the E180 because it always came back to the gate. Maybe you take it in stride as if to say "that's why I'm here!" Livery on BA G-YMML is called "Shanghai's Great Festival of Creativity" marking roses and bamboo to represent British and Chinese Culture. Basically a marketing gimmick for its target cities in China mostly for business passengers.
@StigAviation
@StigAviation 7 месяцев назад
In case there was a fire inside the trash bin, they always have the opportunity to grab the fire extinguisher and put it out. In regards to regional jets, I never actually worked on them. I’ve always been working on the mainline Jets. And I love them all, as you said, that’s why I’m here, it’s my job and I love it.

Blinker fluid , and remember to change out either winter air or summer air in the tires . Winter air in the summer makes the tires sweat and summer air will freeze up in the winter . Winter air remains cold and summer air will be warm . Please use full synthetic blinker fluid . Helps the blinkers to become brighter . Living in Wisconsin , we change out the tire air every fall and spring . I worked in a welding shop for 38 years , retired in 2022 . We have had this same issue with parts not opening , closing , hand clearance , etc . My assembly line was Digital Printing Equipment . designed mainly on CAD . we had assemblies that we could not put together cause we could not get our hand in the area to get at the hardware. Our design Engineers told us CAD shows we should be able to get our hands in there . We had to get them out to our floor and show them

@@StigAviation No problem. Thank you for making the content you do. I was and still am into trains, cars, planes. Anything that transports people I love everything about it. Everyone was impressed with my knowledge as a kid. I was very lucky my Mom encouraged my hobbies and interests. She worked for a bank. One of her clients was financing remodeling of his house and he worked for Evergreen International as a test pilot and mechanic on their 747 fleet. My Mom and him arranged a day for me to go with him to work at Santa Barbara Airport. On that day I was lucky to see them taking an ex-Pam Am 747 (747GE) and changing into the test bed for the GE90. I think it’s a museum piece now. From that day on I knew I was going to work in Aviation. Long story short I ended up getting a rare tumor in my brain, sinuses, and spine at 18. I was told they are invasive and couldn’t remove them. I considered myself very fortunate I was able to have a short airline career, but, by 26 I could no longer work. When I found your videos, words cannot describe it. I can say they really help me with my spirts. I am now trapped in a bed not able to do much. I am also in a lot of pain. So for however long your videos are, I am transported back to better times. So I am very grateful for them. Sometimes when we do something, it may seem like a small act. But these little acts can mean the world to someone else you may have never met. To me that’s the amazing testament to aviation, it brings us together and to see the world and people. By doing that we can change our perception of our world through first hand experiences that tv or the internet can’t quite capture. Stay amazing! Wishing you to reach your goals and beyond in 2024!

Cool fact regarding that special Plane Livery. The Pandas Livery is a 1-3 plane, with a total order of 10 coming. The Pandas featured on the Livery are representative of the 8 pandas that the airline adopted and sponsored care of from the Chengdu giant panda research base and breeding program in China. The Sichuan province of china is also considered the home of the giant panda, so the Sichuan airlines panda livery is also representative of their namesake. The Whole interior of the panda livery a350’s are all decked with panda themes too, And when the panda line (direct flight from Beijing to Chengdu, China) was first introduced, the Air stewards/stewardesses would have panda based costumes to wear for the whole flight too.

Stig, I liked your comments on Engineers and design errors. Reminds me of a story that we studied in a class about human errors. It seems that the Engineers at McDonnell Douglas were working on a new improved design for the cockpit windows. They were supposed to greatly improve the impact resistance of the windows. They set up an air cannon set the pressure for about 400mph and fired a turkey at the window. It shattered the window into a million pieces.They tried it repeatedly with different air speeds and always the same effect. So, back to the drawing boards. Finally, a young engineer asked the crucial question, "You are thawing these turkeys out before each test aren't you?"

Former aircraft mechanic, and retired model maker, designer, and prototype builder, with engineering background as well.. I fully sgree with you on consulting mechanic during engineering/design phases. I know from experience as a former airplane fixer that mechanics have lots of empirical based useful knowledge/wisdom. Engineers spent a large portion of their time pleasing and compromise with designers; mechanics should be in the loop too. They may offer practical information that settles disputes between designers and engineering issues. Sometimes the poor engineer bows to the designer, left only with the dilemma of how to find physical space over pragmatic usage matters.

This takes me back to technology that was built back in the 1960s in the 1970s, we take a look at that product and we see how long it lasts. The reason it last that long because it was built by engineers that were actually hands-on, not sitting behind a desk. Practicality and design were Sitting in the same room talking to each other

Idk if someone mentioned it already, but that BA 777 is a special 1 of 1 livery (and only the 2nd special livery BA uses; excluding tail designs) created to fly the UK’s delegation to the Great Festival of Creativity in Shanghai. The art was made by Chinese artist Masha Ma and pretty sure that’s her signature on the end above G-YMML.

A moment to reflect on a year well spent. Every bird you touch, and by extension, every person that flies or ever will fly on it, is a person's life that you've improved, or perhaps even preserved. I would struggle to think of a role with greater direct impact on our world, and for that, you may find immense satisfaction. Still, I know the sacrifices are many and for that, as a member of the flying public, I, too, will pause to say thank you for your service. In addition, you've found a way to make yet even broader impact by sharing a bit of your days with your RU-vid audience, which further inspires and educates in a way that frankly, no other creator has or even can, as they're not you. That's one more thing I'm adding to my own list of things Im grateful for this year, just accidentally finding your channel. I watch every single episode now and love the long format videos. Thank you! How can we help support your work besides the obvious like/comment/subscribe/watch?
