Stihl BR600 Backpack Blower won’t start?

This one racked my brain over the weekend but slept on it and got it sorted out this morning.
I want to add that the customer had left this blower sitting for a while after the issue with previous shops and insisted we put a new carburetor in it. I can’t stand throwing parts at a machine in a desperate attempt to fix an issue.
Thanks for watching. Next up will be how to take apart and rebuild a recoil starter for your Stihl trimmer. We’ll cover how to tighten a loose pull cord that won’t fully retract and even go into removing the long spring in the starter and how to easily rebuild it.

I knew right away what happened because it had happened to me before. But my bolt came out of the exhaust stuck to the fly wheel and wedged between the coil and fly wheel. It was like a freak accident but it happened. Not sure how to add a picture but I have a picture of it.

Having the same issue. Big headache. I adjusted the valves, I installed a new spark plug, new carburetor, new air filters, new fuel filters, new ignition coil, still doesn’t start. Only started once or twice for 10 seconds each time: what do you think it is ?

Just had the same problem. Common for the key way to snap on push lawnmowers

I've seen that key get sheared off before when a customer forgot to properly tighten the flywheel bolt and tried to start the engine. One good pull is all it takes if it is loose and suddenly your ignition timing is so far off it will never run.

Seems odd to me with the way you went through your diagnostic. Going straight to the Cam really seems like a huge waste of time. Why not check for spark first, then compression test, look at the spark arrestor to make sure it's not clogged, follow up with some Carburetor cleaner ( NOT BRAKE CLEANER ) for one brake cleaner will wash down the cylinder of any oil residue, along with brake cleaner will ruin a lot of Orings , primer bulbs and the list goes on. Stay away from brake cleaner on all small engine equipment. Then I would have gone to the valves to see if it needed adjustment, followed up with the fly wheel. Im sure you have your own method of madness however seems like you started backwards. The easy stuff first is way faster. and knocks out a laundry list of potential issues fast. Anyway, great video to show the end result of the problem.
