What would be the best adjustable carb that bolts into this one if I want to try practicing some porting and opening the muffler a little bit? Surely the fixed setting won't work for that?
I installed the same carb you have and I couldn't get mine to start at all. I replaced the spark plug, carb, air cleaner, fuel filter and fuel line. It doesn't even try to start. What else can I try?
@@JKSawShop I’m really starting to like sthil less and less. The 025 had a plate that sealed to that rubber and the gasket to the carb witch seemed a little better then directly to that rubber.
Hipa, send me one and I'll submit a review. A buddy gave me his stihl ms170. He barely used it but managed to mess up his carburetor according to a technician he took it too.

You are entitled to your opinion on them, I haven’t had any problems with their carbs though. The MS 170 is designed to be thrown away and not repaired.
Any good small engine repair technician should be able to work on any carburetor. If not, find another shop. Only exception is if it's still under warranty, in the case, best to stick with Stihl parts.
