Questions & Answers - Inspired by actual RU-vid comments:
Q: Can I leave a thoughtful comment, tip, or constructive criticism regarding your video?
A: Sure.
Q: Will you advise me on a particular problem I’m having that is similar to what I saw in the video?
A: Depends.
Q: I keep watching your useless videos, I guess that’s time in my life I’ll never get back.
A: Press the stop button.
Q: Operator Aire.
A: It’s spelled “Error.”
Q: I’m upset that you forced me to watch your free video. What are you going to do to make this right?
A: Send you an invoice?
Q: Click on my user name and you’ll see that I’ve never posted a video about anything but I’ve got tons of opinions about your videos.
A: We noticed.
Q: Jerk! Unsub…
A: Don’t let the keyboard hit you in the ass on the way out.
Q: I have problems with obsession and you are my new BFF. Will you talk to me 24/7/365?
A: No.
Q: Can I meet with you?
A: Dude.
Q: I’m a professional and as such I have a deep belief that ONLY professionals are allowed to do what you did in the video. Are you professionals?
A: No.
Q: You didn’t show the circuit-breaker being turned off - therefore it didn’t happen. Won’t people get poked with 120 volts from their finger up to their elbow if they don’t turn the breaker or switch off?
A: Yes, we suspect they would.
Q: I have tons of experience. You did it wrong in your video. Will you remove your video from RU-vid?
A: No, and your experience makes you sound old and inflexible.
Q: You look like a 1944 German soldier without a helmet.
A: Thanks?
Q: I’m a professional and your video diminishes my ability to earn a living. Can I leave a comment whining about that?
A: Hmm, let’s see. No.
Q: I’m smart and you’re dumb. I know everything there is to know about the subject you showed in the video and I want to blather on about how much I know.
A: You need to get yourself a girl, mate.
Q: I’m 40 and live in my mom’s basement. I’m feeling poorly about myself and I want to take it out on you with complete anonymity, can I do that?
A: Sure. As long as you don’t mind us deleting your comment and banning you from the channel.

Update: The MS291 "crazy (chain) oil" issue mentioned in the video has been resolved. A few heat-cycles and the problem resolved itself. The chain oil flow is much more in line with what would be expected. The MS250 "over oiling" when new also eventually resolved itself. Both saws oil appropriately - evidently things need to seat and heat seems to be the common factor.

What saw do you find yourself using more??? I'm stuck between these 2 saws right now

*Coming up on having had this saw for a year....am a casual user and bought it to cut up sections for bowl blanks. Easy to start, **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend even after storage for a couple of months. Simple chain tension adjustment. Just cut up some 20" Osage Orange, including ripping bolts in half (at an angle). Like butter!*

The 291 is sweet. I have a Poulan Pro 20" I bought in June 2020. It's doing good now that I've tuned the carb, especially the high side. No more bogging down using an Oregon Series 70 Chisel Chain. My buddies & his 291 just goes! I haven't seen him clean the filter or having to stop cutting & clean out the wood chips inside where the Clutch is located on my Poulan. We need 20" for our Hardwoods that we cut for Firewood & BBQ to sell in SE Texas. I'm definitely buying the 291!!

Never had that "oiling" issue with the 291.......dropped a 35" tree and cut it up, ran it for 6 hours straight.....in 90Deg weather.

I have those exact saws. I’ve had the 250 for 10 years and realized that I never really needed the 291.

Bigger isn't always better, it depends what one wants out of a saw !

Lol good video, yea weight does make a difference but when it's your job you got to do it lol I carried a stihl 460 magnum with a 20" bar and aggressive chain that's when you get some serious kickback we didn't fell much timber we went behind a sheer and limbed and topped the trees lol that's a heavy saw.

For a while I ran an 028, but I now have the 391 and 661. The old 028 needs a new clutch and sprocket, but other than that it's good. For small stuff I'm going to buy a 170 or 180, something small and cheap.

Get the Piltz Hot Rod Kit with 24 inch Cannon bar for the MS250 and you wont want to use either of those other saws. Its worth every penny in my book. You end up with a lighter, faster and better fuel consuming saw.
@ciphercode2298
@ciphercode2298 2 года назад
Unless theres something new,the piltz kit is just a longer bar,chisel chain,and converts it from a spur sprocket to a rim sprocket. An 18" bar that they come with really suits them with the full chisel chain and to convert to a rim sprocket costs like $20. Keep your stock bar and spend the $40 for a new chisel chain and rim sprocket kit. It's a great firewood saw thatll last a long time.
@freeradical431

@@ciphercode2298 The main thing is it is a picco chain that has a thinner kerf. This lets the saw cut MUCH faster than stock. There is nothing special about the grind on the chain. I know I have an MS250 with the piltz kit and it will almost keep up with a stock 460, but weighs quite a bit less. The only downfall I have noticed is it isnt the best limber, can throw the chain easier than stock cause the thin bar has more flex and twist. 99.8% of the time not a problem.
@ciphercode2298
@ciphercode2298 2 года назад
@@freeradical431 Well,I guess that's cool and all but a 45cc saw is great for limbing and bucking smallish firewood. I run mine with the stock bar,but yellow chisel chain. If I need to cut bigger stuff I keep a 20" bar on my ms310 and 28" bar on my ms441cm . The lightweight and nimble ms250 has its place,but the piltz kit is just a novelty in my opinion.
@freeradical431
@freeradical431 2 года назад
@@ciphercode2298 True I dont think the kit was meant for the "average guy" daily use. Its not as tough as the stock bar- my spare. But if you havent tried one yet I promise you it transforms the saw completely. Plus you can get shorter or longer bars. Im running the 24, probly have at least 30 cords cut on it, chain holds up good. Im probly gonna get a 28, just for a little more reach. I also made a pipe and advanced the timing. Pipe is just for fun I dont run it in the woods. Hard to find trees this year.

How are you liking the 291 ? I am trying to decide between the 250 and 291. I have a MS170 and need something a bit bigger for firewood. Is the 291 worth the extra cash, also how do you find the extra weight.
@dirtyshirtinfo

Derek Sennett I’ve only had the 291 for 3 days and haven’t cut a single piece of wood yet ☹️. I bought it to take down larger trees that I thought were a bit much, over the long term, for the 250. I view the 250 as an “every man’s saw.” It does most things exceedingly well. For my purposes, the 291 is more of a specialty saw. To be used less often, but when it’s time for a bigger gun fire up the 291. The 250 is just nimble and powerful.

@@dirtyshirtinfo did you have to have the 291 tuned when you bought it?? or dose it just need to be broken in.
@jgr1005
@jgr1005 5 лет назад
@@peterriboni3889 No tuning required, it ran like a beast on the first day...but those bar oilers, oh those oilers. I think I mentioned somewhere that the 291 left a puddle of oil in my driveway while I just stood there running it. It coated my shoes too. I didn't realize that until I looked down. After about 2-3 tanks of gas the oilers on both saws quieted down and function as expected. I've since cut chords of wood with both saws and I'm making plans to do the same for October 2019. Both saws are working great.

Jeff Roberts ... just curious what kind of bar oil are you using and about what temp outside? I have the 291 and from the get go it seems to be the opposite.. too little oil and is non adjustable. I have to be very meticulous in cleaning the oil port, oil port on the bar, and keeping bar grooves clean or it gets hot quickly. Thought about maybe trying a different oil to remedy this.

I love my MS 250! Plenty of power and not to heavy for my firewood processing. I recommend it.

I have the MS 391 and I'm in the process of getting a 28 inch bar for it and a chain sharpener and the back of the chain box has charts for file sizes and stuff like that and the socket that will remove the cover on your MS 291 is a T 27 torques
@TheWoodsmanMilling
@TheWoodsmanMilling 4 года назад
I've heard the 391 doesn't put out enough oil for a 28. That said, I run a 25 on mine, and it has plenty of oil for that. I'd do a muffler mod before running a 28 though. Just my two cents.
