How do you remove the carb on a Stihl FS 91R I can't figure it out

It should just be removing the air filtet, air box and then the fuel lines and cables, but they are new enough I haven't had to work on one yet so don't know for sure.

Did this trimmer go thru sudden loss of power or gradual loss of power before you decided to adjust the clearances?

Gradually I'm guessing. They brought it to me when it didn't run great anymore. The cam gear is plastic, so it does wear quite a bit.

Wondering why no install of a new valve cover gasket or copper washer. Those cork gaskets harden and shrink over time after many heat cycles of the engine and I have found them to both be a cause for air leaks . So IMO its just good practice especially considering the parts are under $5.00 to replace them both ... your method on your own equipment I can see skipping those steps but on customer equipment it’s not worth the bs of a come back over a measly $5.00 investment in your business reputation.... just an observation...

I didn't have one. If you have one then by all means I would replace it. That being said I haven't seen too many of these leak. My experience has been that the seals leak before the valve cover gasket. That being said if you are planning on doing this job before you have problems then go ahead and order a gasket, part number 4180 029 0500. Thanks again for watching. Have a great day. :)

Or you can get the VALVE CLEARANCE SETTING KIT part number 4180-007-1005

you didnt say that you have to be on the correct stroke cycle

I did mention to watch the valves open and close and then to watch for the magnets. If you do it like I said you should be on top dead center compression stroke. In the cycle the intake valve has just opened and closed and would be compressing the air fuel mixture. You watch for the magnets because that is what starts the ignition. On the flywheel, right after the magnets you line the mark up with the screw and you are good to go. :) Hope that clears everything up.
