At example to "when" I say about Tesla. We don't have 100% sure but it looks that he was close to make wireless electricity. After about 70y after he's death that subject is still in labs (but I think in near future we'll get it). And at example to "how" we could look about IT history. Lot's of operating systems didn't get fame even it was really revolutionary because how they made innovations or how they promote itself. Sometimes close, sometimes ages after other systems implemented that and until that that features become famous. When Linux had multiple screens (I don't mind monitors)? And Microsoft when W10 comes out still said that was innovative (btw. they made it when lot's of Linux users stopped using that cause they bought multiple monitors :P ). How people hate flat windows 8 design? Now near everything is made in that style (but way better I must say). Lot's of institutions (mostly government) said they cannot move to open source tools. They need MSOffice (even when in 99% cases they didn't use it's features), windows etc. and said too that it's too expensive to do this. Now Russia started to do that move and I didn't hear that they have any big problems.

@@renameagain5808 simply put, shower curtain company turned science innovators create a portal device, rival company "steals" their idea, they go bankrupt. decades later they create the genetic lifeform and disc operating system (glados) which becomes self aware and kills everyone in the facility in one sixteenth of a picosecond. then starts craving science so she builds thousands of test chambers, girl named chell completes them and escapes towards glados, and kills her, blowing up the facility as a result but is dragged back in by one of the cores (little robots) and put into long term sleep. an aperture employee (aperture being the company) saw her get dragged back in and directed all life support to chell's room, leaving her in stasis indefinitely. 50,000 years later a maintenance core named Wheatley wakes her up, they head towards where chell originally killed glados, but then Wheatley accidentally turned her back on which results ji chell having to go through more test chambers etc etc. Wheatley and chell escape from glados and head to her again, Wheatley is then put in charge of the whole facility and becomes mad with power, glados and chell get chucked down a pit into the old aperture (the shower curtain company) which is in a salt mine somewhere in michigan. chell and glados take down Wheatley, by placing a portal on the moon, leaving Wheatley stranded there and glados is back in charge, she sends chell back up to the surface, the end

Dolan I get the sentiment. Best to just treat this as a cover with a different interpretation. It ain't bad but I do want a cover that attempts to capture the games context in regards to this sing.

I saw GladOS's tone in the song (from the game to be clear) to be more of a taunting slant than that of a resigned or broken down tone. It is certainly a very different version of it live and without the effects.

Ant Thomas That's the point it's too upbeat. Even if she didn't play the game, she should at least know how to portray GLaDOS. That's a big part of singing. Portraying emotion and though she's a wonderful singer, she didn't do a good job with the emotion part.

Gvido Well, think about it this way. If an actor played a snarky, sarcastic character as a cutesy, positive character, I feel like most people would be upset. She really is an amazing singer, but that's only half of being a live music performer. You need to portray the character as well.

She sings wrong notes and puts way too much inflection in parts that shouldn't even have it. She even sings wrong lyrics. Like they're literally written out in the end credits. What the fuck are her interjections between verses? This is way too annoying. I'd rather this just be an instrumental, as these guys are pretty talented.

It's a bitter-sweet sad song that has the character bidding the player farewell in a way expressing forgiveness and regrets. All of which is completely missing from the vocal performance here. The instrumental was excellent though.
