@@williammitchell6254 I know I’m taking this probably-joking comment way too seriously but I’m on my adderall for the first time in like a month so I need to write essays about this baby animal game and you need to read them lest I don the clown makeup again. Tier 3 pets are the hardest in the game to level up because the animal pool is really diluted by the time they appear and it’s a long time before you gain access to chocolate. By the time you do most of them have already fallen off, and on top of that a lot of them need commitment to be worthwhile- dog needs to be scaled consistently, rabbit basically requires you to commit to a food build, camel and blowfish need early HP buffs, kangaroo needs a tanky unit to stand behind. The reason why the Turtle is the best tier 3 by a country mile is because it doesn’t need any resources at all and can be pilled for melon armor once something better comes along. It’s versatile, immediately useful, and doesn’t leave you at a deficit once a pivot becomes necessary. The reason why people become the Joker when they can’t level the Dog is because they’ve already committed massive amounts of resources to something that only turned out to be a liability. Not being able to level the Dog is really punishing because its base stats are horrible, its scaling falls off very fast if it’s not leveled ASAP, and it requires the rest of your team comp to be easily pivoted in order to scale consistently. I don’t think anyone even uses it unless they get it early. Skunk doesn’t have that problem since it’s useful at the point when it appears, even with base stats, and it’s not long before you start getting chocolate which makes leveling it a much safer bet. Even if you get unlucky shops and can’t level it up in time for the endgame, it’s not a big deal since it still contributed in the time you had it and didn’t require you to build your entire team around it. Hell in a lot of cases a lv1 Skunk is worth keeping around past turn 10 because its level 2 form is so good that it immediately makes up for its mild underperformance in the previous turn.

@@itzflamezblade5284 obviously not the ONLY counter, but as long as ur scorpion has 21 attack it kills a 50/50 with melon

@@wintergreen9949 Funnily enough, I try to counter those with my very own big turtle (tho usually I use this if I have other forms of wide scaling like penguin or autoscalers like bison so that my main unit still doesn't get lagged behind)

@@wintergreen9949 Also I found fly a decent budget counter to high level turtles, the flies are just there to pop the melon armor before your big unit with melon curb stomps their unprotected asses.

Skunk is S tier, many people are saying this. Strong midgame pivot that’s instantly useful at level 1, and it shows up early enough that you can consistently get it to level 2 or 3 going into the endgame where it either seriously cripples or outright invalidates like 70% of teams. All while requiring a fraction of the resources. Off the top of my head the only teams they don’t absolutely shit on are summon teams, but those have the most possible counters of every viable team archetype in the game (hippo/boar, splash damage on a strong unit, any sniper, just to name a few) all of which benefit from the skunk’s effect. And since the skunk does so well against everything else, you have more wiggle room to put anti-summon team checks on your team. This stinky fucking rodent has the pivot utility of the deer with infinitely more longevity, the insane value of the scorpion with infinitely more reliability, it fits on just about every team in the game and doesn’t depend on synergy or scaling in any way, and almost every unit in the game synergizes insanely well with it. Can you believe the eggman put it in D tier?

Other payed creatures showed up too. You can choose whether to only queue with FTP or to queue with both. It's a setting somewhere. So NL just plays with both.

I actually don’t think Skunk necessarily needs a nerf, the only reason why it’s so obscenely good is because it’s the only consistent counter to scaler teams, which are by far the most common type of endgame team. If the game were rebalanced to make it harder for scaling teams to steamroll the midgame, where few teams have the tools to deal with high stats, they wouldn’t be so prevalent in the endgame and the Skunk becomes a very strong but balanced unit. Either nerf scaling units or buff midgame units to give them more tools to compete with scalers without relying on scaling themselves.

I wouldnt be surprised if it got bumped up a tier
