Only Sting can sing this in such a way as to tear at my soul. The pain and sense of love lost in his voice is awesome. The man puts so much emotion into his art.
My mom used to sit up and listen to this when I was a kid every single night after Id gone to bed. No song has ever brought out such a strong reaction in me ever, this song and fields of gold. For years I couldnt even listen to it at all, I went crazy with all the thoughts and feelings...but im over that now, and only beauty is left. Thanks Sting!

One of my top 3 favorite artists of all time. The great thing about Sting's song writing is that it's deep, poetic, and makes sense all at the same time. I find that there's no filler in his songs. No nonsensical lyrics to fill space. The songs are deep but can be precisely interpreted. It takes incredible skill to do that and Sting does it in every song, particularly since going solo.
