YOUR fish, YOUR tank, YOUR choice is the only one that matters. If you like bare bottom tanks then that is all that matters. Nice to see them back in there.

Either stagger the tiles or line them up perfectly. Setting them just slightly misaligned looks accidental.

I completely understand your reasons, I like both versions of the tank.. The community tank I liked because it represents the hoppy very well. People buy or get fish they like and mix and match them and I thought that the old version captured that very beautiful.

Part of why I like watching you and other peoples aquarium channels is to see what you guys like and what works for you. Its awesome to see that you get to have your tank back the way you want it. This channel works way better when your happy and liking your tanks and projects.

I’m happy that you’re happy Joey. The big community in 2000G was incredible, but this is your hobby and these are your aquariums and fish. You’re bringing us along your journey, so I’m glad you’ve taken back what you originally wanted the 2000G for. The 2000G still looks absolutely phenomenal 👍🏼

No one can argue the benefits of a bare bottom tank, but, personally, the aesthetics of a tank are a big part of the enjoyment of the hobby for me. It's like having a little slice of nature in your house. Either way, nice to see the Rays back in the 2K, but dang the previous version was an awesome community tank.

I recently seen a channel with blk diamonds in a tank with (white)sand substrate. The rays acted completely different and happier than any rays i ever seen on glass or tiles. This looks like a walmart floor in the middle of a stone quarry. lol I dont like the change but whats yours is yours.

I LOVE THAT SETUP! It's like you have a section of a corner of a cave with white sand when u stand back and look at it. It's beautiful dude. Mind blowing with the arrowana above it too. That's an awesome aquarium Joey, extremely impressive 👏

Bro I don't know why people tell you what you should do to your tanks. I started the hobby again because of you! Just put up a 1200 gallon pool pond and putting my tinfoil barbs in within next couple weeks along with my dojos my common pleco and 10 common goldfish! Anytime you release a video, I get excited to see what you changed. I love everything you do, keep it up!

I have to say I love that tank, I think a lot of bare bottom ray tanks feel sterile and although they have their place I think the background really acts as a good backdrop for the art that is those rays, if I wasn't in california this is the tank that I would get

If I were you I would also do a school of something like pinktail chalceus above the rays because they will give them a sense of security, They'll add a bit of action to the tank without taking away from the rays, and they're too fast for the rays to catch them most of the time

I like the bare floor but tiles often come up creating sharp edges and corners especially with rays in the tank

I don't mind a bare bottom aquarium either. My biggest tank is bare bottom too (but with a few plants in some vessels). Easier to clean the bottom when the bottom is bare. :D

Im sure youve been asked this time and time again, why do you not keep them in sand? I have a few myself and with how much they burrow and play in it I couldnt imagine them without it

If their sting falls off, which sometimes happens, it could get lost in the sand and the rays could get hurt. In a bare bottom, you can easily remove sth like that
