My search ended for the perfect Barbershop scent, Stirling checked all the boxes for what I was looking for, powdery with a touch of vanilla and spice, they really captured the essence of a Barbershop. Scent strength is perfect. You described it perfectly Mark!

Ithinkyou'll find the Clubman Pinuad to be a nice finish to the Stirling Barbershop.:) I often do it this way.:) I've been using Avon Wild Country since it arrived and because it has the same vibe as Pinuad (IMHO).:)

I am relatively new to wet shaving. (A little over a year now) I found out about the Sterling soaps watching videos like yours. I ordered some trial sizes including Barbershop. Man.....Was I surprised at how nice Barbershop and Piacenza were. BTW, Sterling was a real pleasure to deal with.

Great shave Mark!!! Glad you're enjoying the Stirling experience!!! They really are a fantastic company!!! I have used so many different scents over the years, and you already have 2 of the best and most popular. If you want a few more, I'd say Piacenza, Executive Man, and Margaritas in the Arctic should definitely be on your radar. Piacenza and Margaritas are my personal favorites, but they have so many, it can switch around so quickly. Also, their Frost Drops are absolutely a game changer! You can make any soap into a metholated masterpiece with just a couple of drops! It's so worth it!!!! Their brushes are great too!!!! I'm telling you, they are taking the shave community by storm, and are in my personal Top 3 soap companies. Have a great day!!!!

NY Diesel in Fl I love Stirling as well. Which other ones do you put in top 3? I would but Barrister & Mann and Tabac. B&M is the master in scents and Stirling definitevely in slickness. Tabac is just legendary in both.

Love Stirling, as well.:) If you want a good non-tallow artisan soap, try Phoenixshaivng.com. I recommend shaving soaps with thier Formula CK-6. But their original Kokum Butter formula is very good too.:)

Finally my favorite!!! Knew you’d love it!! 💈😁✌️💈 I wanted to do something new during this quarantine so I took all of my safety razors and put a different blade in each razor. Today I will use my FatBoy with a Gillette PermaSharp Blade. Not sure if I will use each Safety razor 3-4 times then go to the next one but we’ll see And you used my most favorite blade! this is one of my all-time favorite Shaves that I have personally have done myself Also the more you use the barbershop the more you’ll see the scent change slightly

Thomas Jefferson I have about 10-15 Lab blues but haven’t used them enough to have a good or bad opinion. The only 100-packs I’ve got so far is Gillette Silver Blue & Nacet. The rest are loose blades like Bolzano PolSilver Gillette 7oclock Black / green Voskhod Rapira Platinum Lux Crystals Treet Platinum

I just received my order I got the stirling barbershop and also I ordered the barrister and Mann spice scent. I had an excellent shave with this barbershop it has a nice sweet scent to it left my face very slick! I cannot wait to try to barrister and Mann because people say it leaves very good slickness

Great shave again Mark with a Stirling Soap, I don't have any myself. These Stirling soaps look great value even in Australia, however, over the last 12 months I have started supporting the local Australian small batch Artisans like "Squadron" (tallow based) and "Whisper from the Woods" (vegan base) to name a few. If you want to try an Aussie made soap I believe "Whisper from the Woods" is also available in USA from WCS.

It really does fill up the room. Lotta other people described it as a powdery type of barbershops scent. But when you said a warming vanilla that seems like the perfect description.

Mark, if you can recall, about what setting on the fatboy would be similar to global shave club's ice razor (gold)? I am thinking about getting one. I've heard it's about mid aggression or top end of mild, so would it be about equal to setting 4? Thank you!

Hi, griff. The Ice razor is a bit more aggressive than the Steam razor (Chrome.) Compared to the settings on a Fatboy, If Steam is a 5, Ice would be about a 5.5. It's in that ballpark. My guess is, Steam is about a five (as best as I can recall) and that would make Ice about a 5.5, maybe a tad more. From my experience with both, Steam really is a bit milder than the Ice razor. Again, this is as best as I can recall. I haven't used either one in about a week or so (now I will!):):) However, GSCI has aggression ratings with each razor. Steam Razor: globalshave.club/shop/ols/products/steam-the-razor-that-every-one-is-hot-for "Steam is about a 3.0 / 5." Ice Razor: globalshave.club/shop/ols/products/ice-a-24k-gold-plated-mid-aggression-super-heavy-and-long-handle-razor "Aggression on a scale of 1 to 5 (we consider a 34C to be 2.5): 3.25/5" HTH.:)

hey Mark, love your videos. just wondering how come sometimes you use pre shave oil and other times not? do you find you get just as close a shave and protection with out using a pre shave oil? thanks in advance

Hi, carmine.:) Good question.:) Part of the reason is to test the soap itself for slickness. The other part of the reason is to add slickness to the shave. It really helps in some cases.:) Pre-shave oil or cream give the shave even more slickness than what the soap would have by itself. It's become a matter of whether or not I need or want the added slickness. With Stirling soaps, for me, no pre-shave is needed. These shave soaps are SLICK! However, I've used a few pre-shave oils that really "up the slickness," so to speak, and would very much use them with a Stirling soap (and other soaps). it's an enjoyable step that adds to the smoothness of the shave. Antoehr reason why I like the traditional shave so much...variety!:) you can mix things up a bit.:)

Hi, Jeroen. No Barbershop is a different scent. The scent is a bit warmer with a very little bit of spice. However, it certainly evokes the barbershop atmosphere. so, in this sense, it's in the same ballpark as other barbershop like scents such as Clubman and Clubguy.

Good video. I'm going to get that shaving cream someday. I love barbershop scent shaving cream. I also purchase a fat boy gillette recently. Can I disinfect my fatboy adjustable razor in barbicide? I don't think it would mess up the razor, right? Take care my friend and be safe and healthy.👍

Mark, another soap you have to try is Murphy & McNeil out of TX. The Ouroboros is the best scent I have ever smelled personally. It's more expensive than Stirling but its definitely, "top shelf" shaving soap. Actually it's a "croap" as it's very soft. murphyandmcneil.com/collections/shaving-soap

Hi mate iv been really struggling with my shaves as usual I get so much irritation and blood :( I was just watching yours and I know you don't have any tutorial videos but it seems as though you are very gentle, do you manage to get a BBS the way you shave ?

Hi, Vicarado Lorenzo.;) Yes. Depending on the razor, I can get a BBS shave from 2 passes, sometimes I need 3 passes. I use a light touch. That's why I say in every video, "30 degrees, a light touch, let the razor do all the work gentlemen." However, I've followed this rule: "Don't try to find the BBS shave. The BBS shave will find you." I simply shaved. My BBS usually comes about five minutes or so AFTER I'm completely done. Excess moisture is thrown off, the hair retreats a bit and i'm left with a nice smooth shave. I allow my skin to calm down. Do I ALWAYS get a BBS? No. But I always get a DFS that is free of irritation, nicks and cuts.:) It also might be a bit easier for me as I'm a fair-skinned individual and my beard may not be as tough as others' beards. But I certainly believe that lightening up the touch and letting the razor do all the work made a big difference for me.:)

@@MarkSzorady thanks alot mate I tried to follow your advice but had another awful shave it's really frustrating, my biggest problem is this my hair is corse and tough so when im shaving there is a resistance the blade doesn't just go through the hair IV hard you say like hot knife through butter mine is more like a knife through a brick :( especially on my across and against the grain pass it's even worse, I'm really fed up IV had this problem even since IV started shaving and there seems no cure :(

@@MarkSzorady well I have 5 razors overall, a wolfman, charcoal goods level 2, colonial general V2, raw shaving rs10 and karve c plate. The razor I get the best shave from is the raw shaving rs10 aggressive plate

I was so excited to perches this (Stirling Barbershop scent smell shave soap) and i tell you what i get nothing the smell is not there at all nothing but a raw soap smell no barber powder Lavender ect.. at all I am very Disappointed in this 1 coming from my favor shave soap company. Idk why people say this smells like a Barber shop all i got is a raw handmade soap with no scent oils in it at all .😥
