Just installed rf2 for the first time and holy shit loving it. Have been on iracing for over a year and gotta say, rf2 is pretty sick. The ffb. Physics. Graphics. Damn. Got a lot to learn and set up but Im excited. Decided to try it just cuz of you Dave! Thanks!
The racing may be simulated but the rage is real! 🤣🤣🤣 I was splitting my sides laughing when that was happening. Really enjoyed watching the life streams this week. 👍
Oh I hope this gets sorted quick, thats a serious problem, pretty sure they'll see to it soon seeing as they are enjoying such a revival online with LFM. If Paul Jeffrey picks up on it i'm sure he'll get the ball rolling. Communication from S397 has improved massively since they got him onboard! This was a pretty funny race though! 🙂
I got a penalty for overtaking a spinning car outside of the track. I couldn’t give back the position as he spun. Definitely some shortcomings in the penalty system atm
“That was an Alex Skinner!” 😂 golden, I’m telling ya! That separates the pros from the rookies… his patience to wait for Jim to end his sentence! …and then push! 👌 lovely! 🥳 you go Dave! 👋
Thanks for the video! That incident was unfortunate. Tough to call, but i don't think you were in full control when he touched you. He probably thought you went wide because you were loose. I'd chalk it up to a racing incident.
Yeah it's just a racing incident, but I was in full control. If you look at the front of my car at the end replay it is the same distance from the white line the whole time. But yeah, these things happen 😁
I’m still dreaming of supertourer content on some of the major online sims. I know, Automobilista and Gtr2 have them and they’re great, but you really need to be in a dedicated league for that..
Just had my first LFM Race in RF2... damn, what a difference to iRacing. Everyone respected each other and so on. now i have to learn to play around with setups
The game is so good. Those BTCC are a blast to drive. I already enjoy just to being out in the practice and chasing the cars in front of me (if I can 😅). It's such a pleasure.
When you oversteer into a guy and spin, I think claiming they spin you is a bit out of line! Race brain happens to us all though. What you see in the moment is usually way different than when you watch it back.
@@davecamyt I figured with 30 seconds left to the end there wasn't any replay reviewing! I ended the video when about 30:30 when you were pulling over. Though I don't know what you mean when you say "That's good enough for me". Are you saying you're not mad because you're at fault or it's enough for you to know he's at fault? For me that incident is 100% on you, but we've all been there. These days you're the only simracing youtuber I watch and it's rare to see you wreck!
@@davecamyt No problem Dave, I don't mean to come across as rude if that's how it seems. Just my take on the incident! Keep on churning out the videos and I'll keep on watching.
Hey Dave, I would love to hear you thought on managing the tyres, especially for this BTCC series, I have been struggling a lot with it. Maybe some comments on driving style and setup? Many thanks :)
Hi Dave loving the BTCC videos you peaked my interest so downloaded RF2 and the packs and wow loving the driving compared to iracing Couple of questions though if you would be so kind, i also use a simucube 2 pro and downloaded your settings file just curious what your ingame ffb setting is at? And also what fov do use? I know your on triples im using a G9 but cant seem to get it feeling right
In game I'm usually around 40 for each car. Sometimes a little less. Regarding fov I'm not sure as I have never seen an actual number. I'm guessing it's around 170 by looks 👍
So for all those who are commenting on me. Hi. I'm the guy who Dave unintentionally came across the front of. To explain: The previous race we'd come together after a rather fun little lap 1 fight until I had a spin out of S2 at Sebring. Locked the brakes and Dave had nowhere to go (I instantly apologised in stream). THIS race I was as tight to the inside of the the corner as possible on exit and only saw Dave when he suddenly appeared sideways on my nose. Almost a role reversal of the Sebring incident. Do I feel bad for this incident? Yes. Because I'm not a dirty racer. I'm aggressive yes but I'm not actually a detriment. So I am sorry but I don't know where else I could realistically go in the scenario (and for all of you who want to mention braking. rf2 collision physics still would have turned him around regardless of any action I took...) I will admit though Dave. Your idea of Tekken after an incidents is revolutionary. Genuinely hope there's no hard feelings. I'll try and not end up near you from now on 😅
I've viewed the replays and it's not your fault at all. Dave got a moment of oversteer which mean his trajectory suddenly became tighter than originally - not something you can predict. Nothing much you can do. And if you're a single screener like me, you would've had no visibility of that happening at all.
There is like 3 car lengths on the left of you Dave could have used, but he oversteered directly into your line and spun himself. Happens to everyone. Even on first viewing from his cockpit it was immediately apparent that's what happened, I wouldn't worry about it at all! I've definitely been mad and thought someone else was 100% at fault until reviewing a replay and going "oh shoot I'm 100% at fault". Racer brain happens!
good vid. glad you left the dummy spit in... shows your human... on your adivse just downloaded rf2 and LFM. which packs should I download to get me started.
Same thing happend to me yesterday when I had to avoid a crash and I gave the place back then pitted twice to clear the penalty and never cleared and so I got dqd….So fkn frustrating
I think you should do a daves driving school seriers were u train a viewer over a day or 2 and teach them to be faster over 1 trak maybe same game same car same trak each time with a diffrent viewer ?? 👊🏽
once I get my pedals fixed, I think i'm gonna buy the TCR packs and do some LFM races. rfactor 2 such a good sim. i like it. maybe i'll see ya on the track homeBOI
to be fair to you the penalty systems seems a little touch and go at the moment from what i've seen from your videos (dont have a pc rn so cant play any sim let alone rf2 in order to get a feel for LFM), you gave the position back as quickly as possible but it seemed like that penalty was pretty much instantly given to you.
