Thank you. I was able to learn how to do the double needle blind stitch to repair a 10 inch tear in the lovely burgundy sofa my late wife and I bought 25 years ago. It took two and a half hours and I hope to never stitch anything again in my life but it's like a little part of my soul has been healed.

Thank you for your comment. Having lost my first wife to cancer after 27 years of marriage, and having reached the 25 year mark with my second wife, I know the preciousness of a soul mate. I also know about perseverance in stitching a ten inch line. Congratulations! God willing, you'll never have to do it again.

why not use two curved needles instead of swapping back and forth

You're quite right. For me, it's actually easier to use two needles. However Jason is very adept at threading the needle whereas I would use two needles. I'd spend 5X the amount of time trying to thread the needle versus the actual stitching.
