I need to try turning down my input to clean things up. Thanks for that tip! That was my only problem with amphub. No matter what amp i used, or how i tweaked the amp, i couldnt get it clean enough. Figured it had something to do with the high gain demographic they are going for, but that Fender Bassman preset was almost perfect for what i want out of the plugin. Its all in the gain staging like usual. Lol. Thanks man
I have A QUESTION. With all the models within modern DAWs, would it be a viable option to just get on stage with a laptop loaded with your best tone, and just plug it to a mixing console? Secondary question. Has anyone ever actually toured with such a minimal rig?
Yes it’s been done in the past, I believe Vernon Reid used to gig with a laptop rig with Guitar Rig. It’s a matter of whether you want to risk using a computer for your whole rig.
@@RJRonquillo Well, if it's powered with a UPS (and you don't need that much of a big one for a laptop), then you're pretty much bullet proof, specially if you've got one of these "rugged" military grade type computers, the kind of to go "flying around" bumping at all corners in vehicles during operations. You can use a system control software like "Process Hacker" from SysInternals to disable any useless application that normally runs automatically at startup, and which is totally useless when you use the laptop just for sound editing, like anything from auto-updates to internet protocols, and wifi or blutooth etc (which will automatically restart anyway, soon as you reboot). This can allow the remaining running programs to run with maximum efficiency, basically only the operating system and the sound editing software. You would probably also need a reliable interface with something like Jack inputs and XLR stereo outputs, and you're done. I have a 2012 Panasonic CF-53 Toughbook, and it still works like a champion, but it's just close to not powerful enough (CPU) by modern standards to support what is required by the latest sound editing softwares.
