Same exact car as my wife and I have. I installed the VCM otr intake myself and absolutely love the look and everything about it. Same year and same color. We've got about 10K less miles on ours. As far as the DOD delete, did you just tune that out? You talked about cam etc. I just have DOD/AFM turned off via a handheld tuner. Will I need to take mine in and get different lifters and cam, or am I safe to leave as is? I turned off DOD/AFM via my handheld tuner around 47K.
We turned the DOD off in the tune. If the lifters never unlock, they are less prone to failure as they usually fail unlocked and get stuck due to internal wear. Non DOD lifters are much more durable and necessary if you do a cam.
@blazinghighperformance7228 Thanks so much for your reply and knowledge. Been following you guys a good while now. Especially love the G8 content. I wish I lived closer to you guys.
You guys like the VCM over the other intakes out there? Hear they're the best but you guys seem to dyno a lot of these and probably know what works best in real world.
The VCM has a lot of filter area and benefits from positive air pressure coming into the filter at the front of the car. That’s something that can’t be replicated on the dyno but at speed is definitely a benefit. Plus it cleans up the under hood a lot!
Once tuned what could possibly go my GXP could make? I have shorty headers and vcm CAI, parts need to be installed is the 102mm lsx intake manifold and a 102 mm TB. For the lsx intake manifold do I need a tune?
You should get a tune, but may be better off with a rod mod intake and ported throttle body. You should be closer to 400 with the LS3 and potential manual.
@@nufnuffz28 Im planning on selling the lsx manifold now and just get the rod mod manifold. Just with the vcm Intake I beat a 2022 charger scat pack off the line and beat a 5th Camaro and a c63 AMG 6.3L roll racing. Sadly I have a auto
