for the money i gotta say this is my favorite truck in bone stock it really is a great truck ! with very small upgrading this is by far a 8/10 for just about anyone to get in to r/c .
Picked up a senton mega over the weekend, swapped in a brushless system no problem. Love the way this truck handles! Stoked to see what you do with this one Joe 👍
For my Typhon 3s, i ended up using a Dynamite 130A out of a Baja Rey (which is basically that Spektrum ESC) along with an 18T pinion. It actually does great! I put the original BLX ESC into the Baja Rey and with its 6 pole 3800kv motor, it does cog quite a bit even with the smallest pinion. Now i know the cause of that cogging; its the ESC!
Im new to the senton and nice quality rc vehicles in general. and i ordered some parts and some lipo batteries. 5000 mah 3s but do i need a new esc for this?

Another upgrade you'll wanna do is replace the composite pivot balls throughout on this truck with metal ones like Hot Racing, stock ones wear like butter
Ordered this spektrum 4s 130a ESC for my vendetta because the stock 100a ESC hits lvc after 2 passes on 3s. The 130a allows you to tune the v per cell lvc
I already have the motor and all that I'm just was told that I still need to buy some gearings to adapt it on do you have a walkthrough on how to do that I can find any video please
I love your channel and content. I’ve learned a lot of cool tips and have been highly entertained but them. On the subject of this senton 3s to 4s upgrade. I’m curious what your total run times are on a fresh 3s battery in the 3s senton. I have a 3s and also a 6s senton. The 3s runs maybe 10-15 mins. The 6s will run laps around it, battery life wise. Anyway, what have you run across in regards of battery life just out bashing and crashing and having fun! Thanks. You and your channel rock!
Carpet on the jumps? What is this, Europe? You would need to replace the radio box to run the Castle. I talk to myself all the time, its nice to speak to someone with a powerful intellect, a great sense of humor and argues with me enough to keep it interesting.
My go to 4s esc is the 130a Spektrum for bashing or club racing. For $140 I don't think you can beat it for a non-sensored ESC/motor combo. I am not a fan of the Spektrum 2050kv motor tho.
I did find out that the lash between the pinion and the spur from the factory where to far apart and myn wouldn’t go full speed after a couple of runs. Pulled the motor apart cleaned it and lubed it haven’t had a problem since on 3 and 4s thankfully and I do bash it but definitely replace that servo before it lets you down.
Yea it happened the first time cuz I'm an idiot and my battery cables got caught, bi the 2nd time was just from normal use aka beating the snit out of it
mine cogs too. mine also seems to be all over the place while yours seems to go strait. ive been through the diffs, shock oils, slipper adjustment and badlands for tires but the rear will still slip out on my track. i wish it had a center diff i think that would be much better for the track. my grandson drives this one and i drive my losi tenacity tt pro which is alot better all around. im amazed how the plastic ring and pinion in the diffs hold up on the senton. they were pretty eatin up but i sanded them smooth and put them back in.
Yep, couldn't agree more, Mamba X is the best of the three! Then again, Spektrum 4S might just be more practical. Oh, who am I kidding, Mamba X ftw! 😉👍 Now, to find an esc to replace the Mamba X in my crawler! 🤣
Would you still recommend the spektrum firma 130a esc for 130$ over investing more money into the mamba now that it has been some time? Im looking to upgrade my sons granite because it cogs bad in its current form. 130$ and a nice fit is appealing but if you were doing it over would you still do what you did and went with the firma if you were me? Thanks!
Seems like you were having the same problem I'm having with my Traxxas hoss I put a spectrum system in it and this damn spectrum system will not stop cogging it's like thees ESC'S only want to run at a certain speed it won't even let me creep like 8 miles an hour is as slow as it will go which is crazy and mine does that cogging to really bad even with the 2400kv Traxxas motor that I had in there which is a perfect match for the spectrum 120 amp ESC and 130 amp ESC but cogged real bad so I went and got a 3150kv spectrum motor and it does the same thing I've recalibrated it programmed it with the actual little programmer anything I can think of the only thing I don't understand on this programmer is when you first initially start up after u connect if you hit the reset button on the programmer it brings up monster mode or race mode for the ESC and it's on monster mode so I don't know maybe that has something to do with it and that needs to be changed I don't know but I don't want to mess with that because every video I've watched nobody explains what that does
I don't understand why nobody made the point that you can turn up the punch on any of those and more than likely will eliminate any lag or cogging at the start
O i cant stand ANY cogging! Makes me nuts. I think just about any 3660 sensorless motor coggs at over about a 14 tooth pinion and going down on kv hasnt helped a bit in my case. Bigger can or smaller pinion unless really expensive motors help. Idk. I’ll sacrifice speed for lack of cogging.
