Ginger is used a lot in India for medicinal purposes. Great for sinus, sore throat and general cold symptoms. It can be added to hot tea or made into small balls. It really works great!😊
Dont sleep on Big Lots. I got dried cilantro $1.19 and red mill egg replacer powder for 4.99. I was also able to get a nice selection of freeze dried fruits at great prices. Also I get chicfila for breakfast about once a week and ive started asking for honey. The little packets will go in one of my breakfast meal bags. And... I buy the gallon bottles of Odoban disinfectant at home depot. You can clean with it diluted or use in laundry as a additive. I LOVE it. It's around $10 and goes a long way.
Hey Jara!! I've been beige watching your old videos that I haven't seen!! Enjoying watching them! I was late finding you! So I'm trying to catch up!! Lmao
That's a good idea! When I was a kid my mom always homemade our onion dip by adding dried minced onion and something like soy sauce (but I think it was probably Braggs aminos if memory serves) to a tub of sour cream!
We buy a lot of our seasonings in the big containers and then make our own seasonings like poultry seasoning or spice rubs for our meats and fish ,and pastas and vegetables. Most of the spices we use are purchased at Walmart stores and are from the company called tones. Things like grated cheese [parmesan]can be used in dips as well.
I have followed a couple of guy's that are big into dehydrated backpacking meals, and they've suggested using condiment packets from places like McDonalds, Taco bell, Arby's and Burger King.
Save the big plastic jugs [laundry detergent, bleach, vinegar] for flushing toilets. The vinegar bttl can also be used for dish washing, rinsing; food rinsing; pet washing, rinsing; body washing, and rinsing; and not losing your drinking water.
Jara, I now order occasionally from Thrive Life because of you!! I'm 73 and in a fixed income, but they have such good monthly deal. Thank you!!! Keep up the great work! May God always bless you and yours!! ❤🙏🏻👵
😂Talk to your local government officials and see if they can get the Aldi's company to put their stores in your state and area. We have them in Northern New York. We also have the Save a lot stores as well.
I watched your video on my Ipad & had the Walmart app open on my phone, so I could order many of the items you shared! Thanks for helping me with my shopping. Great suggestions! 💚
One of the dishes we made in Home Ec class (anyone remember those?) was Tuna Noodle Casserole. And there were no generic brands back then (mid-60's) so Campbell's it was! And although I do use generic "cream of" soup in casseroles, sauces, etc, when I eat tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich, it has to be Campbell's!
FYI----The drink mix packets for water work very well in milk. I had to use them when my son was a toddler, he hated the taste of milk, and this worked wonders and he still does it on his own!
💚. I look forward to Sunday morning s and your videos. I get so many ideas from you. I am planning on making meals in a jar for giving to people in a special circumstance.
I would like to get in on how to do this program on Amazon as I ordered monthly from Amazon. Their vitamins are so much less expensive than even Walgreens
I got tickled when you talked about the 50s and casseroles...I was born in 51 and as time went on I remember the ads for Campbell's soup!! "Soup and sandwich" was their mantra! Great stuff as always! I have things to order now! Thanks! Great video!
Ever since my college days I've always thought I was the reincarnation of a 50's housewife lol. Love me some Campbell's soup... grilled cheese and tomato soup is still one of my kids favorite "quick & easy" and budget meals! The first thing my mother ever taught me to cook and still a favorite today is tuna casserole with cream of mushroom! And as cheap as I am, I get no name brand on almost everything but the canned soups is one exception... Campbell's really is better in my opinion! Thanks for checking in! 🥰
Hello to all Newbie from Michigan here, And yes I just noticed yesterday, the price on eggs have gone down quite a bit. Our Meijers 1 dozen eggs, less than $2.50.Thats a blessing
My local save a lot closed!! I can tell you they have an amazing chicken, bacon, ranch Frozen pizza! Its the best I have even found!! I don't recommend using the bleach clearer on any white plastic ANY over time it turns it yellow!! Bleach will have no smell if it's expired!!
I have used rum extract to make "rum" cakes ,,, just substitute a couple of teaspoons of extract for the rum called for. Most also have a glaze that calls for rum and I use the extract for that, too. You can also use it in Butterscotch Cookies ,,, basically chocolate chip cookies except you use butterscotch chips (use instead of/with vanilla).
Rice crispies and corn flakes that are made without oil will keep for over a year vacuum sealed in a jar. Also, if you can find it, the tightwad Gazette was so good when my husband was a second class in the Navy and I was a stay at home Mom with making meals stretch and making a lot of things from scratch. I love our Save a Lot for good buys on meat. They recently had the 5 lb chubs for 10.00 and I canned 30lbs of hamburger!
@@wickedprepared I actually have a container of that fake cheese one of my kids loves it anyway I tried it on a mason small mouth and it worked just as you said. Like you going to get several of those and dump them just to get the lids. Thank you this will help me.
Hydrogen peroxide does very well for laundry and sanitizers plus inhaling it is safer than bleach. I also use brag amino instead of soy sauce. Thank you for sharing
Ahh yes great point with the peroxide! My family used the Braggs amino when I was growing up! I do have some coconut amino but I haven't really gotten in the habit of using it much yet.
Hey David, thanks for watching! Ibotta is a rebate app, it's like using coupons except they give you the money back AFTER you make your purchase rather than taking the money off before purchase. You can check out ibotta here if you're interested in learning more! There are also links to it and all the other apps in the description box 😊 ibotta.onelink.me/iUfE/8cc13c64?friend_code=biqzbr Ibotta is pretty simple to use. You just put the app on your phone and browse through the list of rebates. You activate the ones you are interested in using and then buy the item. I mostly use it at Walmart, and i connected my Walmart account so it detects the items I purchased and adds the $ to my Ibotta account automatically. But if you don't want to connect your Walmart account you can just go into "redeem" after you shop and scan the barcode at the bottom of your receipt. Some other stores you may have to snap a picture of the receipt. Once you have $20 in rebates built up you can cash out. I always cash out to my PayPal and transfer to my bank account. (They also have the option of direct deposit to your bank account but my small credit union wasn't an option for that) There are frequently free items where you get back the whole purchase price of the item, and they make it fun by having bonuses that you can earn if you redeem certain numbers of rebates. They also often have "any item" rebates. I use several rebate apps but Ibotta is the easiest and best in my opinion! This is where you can get started: ibotta.onelink.me/iUfE/8cc13c64?friend_code=biqzbr referral code "biqzbr"
💚 Enjoyed the video. Your hair looks great. Half the time I catch myself thinking that your lip color is so pretty. I know this isn’t a beauty channel, but…I’d love to know. 💚
As always, superb video! What a haul!! Hope you had help getting it all in the house!!😅💚 I'm sure I'm not the 1st to suggest that you write a cookbook. I hear you say that you use this or that in a recipe and I think how I'd love to know that recipe. Your recipes in a jar are wonderful and I am planning on making several. As long as I can use a stove or oven (during good times) I want to cook warm meals. 😋 Going to get some seed in pods for the Spring!!!
Aww thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! ❤️ I appreciate you and I'm glad you're enjoying! Stay tuned .. you never know what we might have planned for the future 😉😊
As usual, a very informative video. I got a couple of ideas. Thanks for sharing your haul and letting us know where to find them. I need to check and see if there are any Asian markets around here. I've never seen one, but good to know what they offer.💚
You want to make sure the pool shock is calcium hypochlorite (I don't have a pool but I think there are other types) and that's its at least 73% concentration. Then it's 1/4 oz (about a heaping tsp) of the powder to 2 gallons of water to make bleach. Which you can then use to clean, purify water, etc. The pool shock stays good for years so I like to keep at least one small bag of it on hand at all times. You just have to be careful because it's very corrosive to metals. It's pretty inexpensive so I usually buy a new bag every year or two and give the old one to my sister so I don't have to worry about it getting old (i like to keep things rotated). Besides we swim in her pool so it's the least I can do 🤣
Thanks for sharing! Love your prepper haul videos. Are you still doing a video on storage/organization? I struggle with finding places to store a stockpile
Hi. Can butane and propane bottles be stored inside the house or should they be stored in the garage? I’m in California so the garage can get pretty hot.
Can you go over some of the price differences on Thrive Life? I've been ordering from them for several months now for mostly long term storage (but i have a kiddo on the spectrum that is addicted to the broccoli, so we get cans of those every month)
The broccoli is so good- isn't it awesome when our kids actually CHOOSE a snack that's so healthy?? That's fantastic! ❤️ The price on the broccoli actually went down but it wasn't one of the big ones- it went down about $1 on the family can. The biggest price drops we saw were on: asparagus, peaches, apricots, applesauce, Cherries, mangoes, Green beans, green onions, green peppers, kale, mushrooms, zucchini, yogurt bites, Diced chicken and pulled pork. Several of the complete meals went down and there were smaller price drops on just about every fruit and veggie and some other meats. The biggest price INCREASES we noticed were on the Scrambled eggs, chicken slices, Diced beef, and the chef packs- boo on those because they're all favorites of ours! Especially the chicken and eggs. I'm not sure why the sliced chicken went up but the Diced and grilled chicken both went down, that one's a mystery to me! If you want more specifics go ahead and shoot us an email and i can send over links to the actual price lists where you can see all the prices!
I agree with you better have it even if we dont use it.. Like you said better to have it, then wish we had it went we need it.. Love Super C cuz comes with D³ and Zinc.. 💊💊 Always great info and great haul Jara!! ❤️❤️💚💚🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great information as always. I would love it if you did a video on tips for Amazon subscribe & save. I've never utilized it and I feel that I'm probably missing a good opportunity to save.
💚💚 Great video! I'd love to see a video on Subscribe & Save, first time I heard of it was on one of your videos but I don't know anything about it. I'd also love to see a vid on making dog food. I give my dogs salmon oil regularly, I look for the pure salmon oil because it has more of the super healthy Omega 3's than other fish oils. Thanks!
I definitely need to do better at staying away from things like that! Luckily I don't use many of the drink mixes as I prefer plain water for everyday drinking...I mostly use them for low carb cocktails! 😂
