Since it's a democracy, and the messages of the great leaders have not been totally censored, isn't it time to take responsibility for our own life? As a social worker, I am interested in the truth of all individuals. We must know the past of this country to understand what steps need to be taken to correct the systematic dehumanization of minorities. I seek to peacefully do this and within the confines of the law and woud suggest other individuals do the same.

I'm trans and also hope to become a social worker but I have the perspective of not having the privlege to sit here listening to literal Civil rights speeches with deaf ears and the lukewarm position that only privlege and the fundamental lack of lived experience that gives that grants asking the oppressed to remain so in inherently oppressive systems.
