I picked one up at 13 degrees with a senior shaft. It’s a lovely driver nice and easy to hit and at £179 a bargain. Ultimately as a 41 year old beginner it seems an easy way to get a nice driver that works.
Product reviews and course vlogs have improved greatly over the last few months you’ve relaxed and your personality shows through more now, really good stuff Lee.
You are by far the most relevant reviewer on RU-vid, reviewing lesser known makes / 2nd hand equipment will encourage more people into the game. Why not try setting a bag up for under £800 and putting it into play and see where your scoring goes, up or down.
Your videos and advice convinced me to pickup the LP2 Driver and 5 Wood for $215 shipped here in the US from RockBottomGolf. Appreciate your insight and straightforward honesty!
Today first time using the Driver on course as didn’t have time for range very impressive hit a couple of quite long for me drives. Even managed slight fade on very sharp dogleg right. Just ordered 3 wood to complete my bag. Thanks for the advice to buy one. Onwards and upwards
This is one of the most honest and useful reviews I’ve ever seen. Over the years I can’t believe the number of golfers who insist on using expensive, “the latest”, big name brand drivers, that add nothing to their game.Seems like more should be using this.
So two months in to owning LP2 Driver 3Wood and Fybrid and I am really pleased with the results my consistency is growing with driver and I can finally hit 3 wood off fairway just as long as I don’t go for any Hollywood shots. The Fybrid is really excellent very consistent. I also have D9 4 5 and 6 hybrid which are also easy to hit
I bought this exact driver today for £149 brand new from American golf, after watching this very review. Only person I found on YT to properly review it. I tested a few, but for the price and performance it was a no contest. I was hitting it high on the launch monitor, it was helping reduce slice considerably. Thanks so much for you video, helped so much. Can’t wait for next time on the course
(English )Harry Nodwell who is ex My Golf Spy now works full time for Wilson on the R&D side. In November last year he mentioned the new Wilson range would be the talk of RU-vid in his last No Puts Given Pod Cast. Wilson is still the club manufacturer who has won the most amount of masters. WITB for me now is Cleveland HALO fairway woods and hybrid after your reviews : )
I am turning 60 with a new hip, and just found your channel. Thank you!!! I am looking for something just like this to spend my money on, and not tear my body up trying to hit it!!!!!
Picked up my fairway wood today, couldn't miss the fairway with it if I tried, One evening with and the driver will be my next purchase, thanks for the great review and advice to purchase.
Just got fitted for a new driver..tried g430 stealth 2 paradym..walked away with a Wilson dynapower carbon…whoosh what a driver..need to be straight around stover hope the Wilson helps 😱😱😂coupled with a Wilson triad ball boom it’s a great combo
I recently paid $100 in the wrapper. Played 9 holes twice over a few weeks. Then played 18 holes twice this past week…..22 out of 28 Fairways just like that.
Had an old Tiltleist 909 driver which Ive played for years which recently broke. Looking for a cheap alternative and loved and set my heart on the SimMax2 at £249 at American Golf. Had a fitting at AG with the Sim and the Launchpad and wow the Launpad was stupidly straight compared to my Titleist and my usual fade and gained 20 yards due to it being straight. Straight in the bag.
Absolutely brilliant video review Lee!! 🙌🙌⛳️⛳️been looking for replacement driver for some time. Could save people a fortune as now only £149 . Keep up the great work
I almost bought this driver for my nephew. I ended up with the Cleveland Launcher XL which is also lightweight with a huge footprint. It is adjustable.
Can’t wait…I have a LP2 due in 2 days…10.5, brand new under $100….I hit it straight already but hoping for a draw off the driver to help gain a few yards to help with my GIR. Wilson makes great golf balls as well.
I own 7-9 of the LP Irons and as a 40+ handicapper and a slow swing speed, I can tell you, they do work, if you have the length right. I made that mistake of having these LP irons too long for me and I'm kinda regretting it. Although, I did hit a 7 iron to within 15 feet on a par 3 at 135 yesterday so I honestly can't complain too much about that (3 putted but eh). You literally couldn't fat these clubs if you tried. And I did. It still carried pretty decently. Not as long as a good hit but about a half swing. All I'd say is get the length right. If you get that length right, you won't do what I do and top the daylights out of it. The irons are very, very solid.
Just put the D9 (9*, stiff) driver in my bag 👍🏻. I tested it against my Cobra Ltd X LS and the D9 is more controlled for me, it tends to go straight 😊 and it feels and sounds really solid. Nothing "cheap" about this driver ✌🏻
Fantastic Lee, I think I may swing the club a bit too fast. My driver has broken and on the hunt. Apologises I didn’t reply to your response last week kindly offering to do my fitting for the takomos…it’s on hold looking for a new driver 😢
Great review I recently bought the 19.5 fy which is an excellent club and have decided to give the driver a go as I fit the getting old swinger who needs a bit of help with lighter weight to maximise my yardages. Fingers crossed it’s a winner. Keep up the good work Lee
Love that you have found the wilson clubs. Love them. If I was changing driver it would be for a wilson carbon driver. My swingspeed is to fast for the launchpad but I am not getting any younger so later this is the advice I need to listen to🤣🤣
So it’s for the elderly, the infirm and those that can’t be bothered to fix their slice? It’s great to know that I will be able to switch to equipment that will help me when I get old and I wouldn’t have any issue gaming a Wilson. Until then though my G425 isn’t going anywhere, it’s a magic club.
Wilson are a big brand historically but dont have the advertising or image as the big 4,5 brands. Very underrated make and have a cb series irons, best ive ever hit.
Great review Lee, thanks for bringing us this type of content. I use a G425 sft which I love but I have used the adjustability with the guy who fitted me after lessons. How does the Launcher compare to the Dynapower?
I run the LP Driver bit 10.5 degree, just put the 5 Wood in my bag, 4 Hybrid and 4-P+G in the 2020 version of the LP Irons and I love the set up. As a beginner golfer, I couldn’t ask for a better set up at a very reasonable price.
👏👏👏 very professional review mate !! Nice and relaxed , great vlog ,ps put it in the bag and then when your bored with it , give it to me , because im old andi deserve it 😅
I picked up a set of LP irons used for 300$ this week. Might have to look for this driver used also. I started playing last year at 38 years old. The tee box is easily my worst shot. I'm taking ego out of it this year.
Just bought one @ £149 from AG. They taped it up and sent me out on the range. I hit 20-30 balls straight as you like. Normally 3 slices in 10. I have now used it a few times and would say that slice is down to 0.5 per 10. I would have paid double for the result. 62YO returning to golf.
Hi Lee, great video... I wonder if wilson LP driver is for my swing speed of 95 km/h. Thanks. Or exists another driver like LP with offset for my swing speed. Thanks
I think it probably has mostly the same tech as any driver. What it doesn't have is the tour baggage to be paid for and a huge marketing campaign behind it.
I have a Wilson x31 set. I’ve just broken 100. Would I benefit more from this (used around £90) or the dynapower (used around £200). I’m 42 but very for and flexible. Club head speed 95mph
Went to get fitted for the Dynapower and walked away with the Wilson D9 9 degree stiff. Was only 3 yards shorter and picked it up for $300AUD. Has the exact same PKR artificial intelligence face
I traded my £500 pound driver in and got this club completely changed my game. Iv dropped 10 shots by just being in the fairway. If your a high handicapper get this driver!
Hi Lee just watched you review on the Wilson driver. I’m 66 yrs old and I use a Cleveland launcher which you and Dan done a review on .I’m a slow swing speed and a bit of a fader. Would you recommend the Wilson over the Cleveland. I only drive 180 yds at the moment. Keep up the good work always look forward to watching your show
Bought my 10.5 degree nearly new for £95. So easy to hit without a slice. I carry mine about 240 which I’m more than happy with. I’m 60 years old and been playing 18 months. I also have the 5 wood and 4 hybrid which are just as easy to hit
Do you know your swing speed? I'm 40 and have about a 100-105 mph swing speed. Will that work with this club? I'm looking at a 9 degree with stiff shaft
"Tired the fairway, loved it. Tried the irons, most accurate I've been. Can't miss the fairway with the driver. I could make golf so easy on myself." "What did you end up getting?" "Full bag of blades." 😊
That's my bad shot if I swing too hard. Maybe that could be your problem. If not, try the Paradym with the movable weight at the back to the fade setting. I put mine at slightly draw bias since I fight a slice but I took 3 swings with it, my slice was gone. Transferred the exact same swing to my old Driver and my slice was gone there too.
This year I started playing driver. My last season was 3w off the tee only all year. I picked this up brand new for $99 at the golf shop. 10.5 degrees. 8 out of 10 I found fairway. Last swing I nailed it and 250 yards. Smooth swing tempo. Hopefully I can find more fairways this year. Yes I am a high handicap right now. But I am only 7 strokes away from breaking 100.
i was having this conversation today with our pro ,he said everbody wants the expesive driver because they think its better ,which in my humble opinion is rubbish ,nothing wrong with wilson
I have a stealth plus and this LP driver. For me the LP wins every time. I can’t hit the Taylormade good at all. LP is a way better club. Tough pill to swallow.
You have an aversion to playing the brand that’s won more majors than any other? (It’s 62 majors they’ve won by the way) A brand that’s won majors in every decade since the 1920’s? And will cost you less in the process… 🤔 Good for you!
Hey Lee, I purchased a perfect TSi1 about 5 weeks ago at a used club retailer in the Dallas area. 50 gram regular flex shaft. It will be in my bag till the end. Good job on the Launch Pad, though. I really thought a lot about that club when I was searching. Carry on. 🤠⛳🏌️
The more people that take this advise the more the manufacturers will drop their prices! STOP BUYING THESE RIDICULOUSLY OVER PRICED JUNK! I bought a new still in the plastic TM M6 for 150 US, and it was 2 yards shorter than the Stealth 2! Take half the savings and get some lessons! Guarantee you’ll hit it farther than the DOPES who invest 500-600 with half a dozen lessons and a 200 driver!
